Everything on the property was very clean and well maintained. Anything we wanted to do was within walking distance and easily accessible. Absolutely beautiful! Everyone we met that worked there was friendly, helpful, and made us feel like part of their family.

Our first trip to the Maldives for our 25th wedding anniversary was spectacular. Varu by Atmosphere was absolutely breathtaking with its turquoise waters, and plentiful marine life. Don’t hesitate to book this property, you will not be disappointed.

Treated like royalty, a truly brilliant experience

It is hard to describe just how truly excellent this hotel and its staff were. From the moment of stepping off the air conditioned boat after a 45 minute ride from Male, you experience a beautiful luxury island and warm and informative welcome from the staff. Daily newsletter provided via WhatApp with news of the day and things to do, our host helpfully pre-booked restaurants and excursions for us and was then able to change to match our preferences. Nothing was too much trouble. We sampled every restaurant, the food was superb in all, particularly worth visiting and experiencing was Kaage which provided truly excellent traditional Maldivian food. Across the board the staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful we were treated like royalty and made to feel really special, it seems unfair to name individuals as everyone was so kind and helpful, but of particular note look out for Ritika, Christine, Manoi, Heni, Antarika and Rahul. The boat trips, snorkelling and scuba diving were all fantastic, do the sunset fishing trip it is well worth it. The reefs around the island are a little sparse so well worth doing the included snorkelling trips. This island sets the standard, we had a fantastic week and will certainly go back. Thank you Varu

Wonderful holidays in a medium size resort with a truly full inclusive atmosphere. We spend a week with the kids in two water villas celebrating anniversary and a birthday and inn both occasions they made us feel at home. Thanks to all the staff Shukkuryya

Overall, the stay was amazing and exceptional. Loved every moment and my wife enjoyed way more than me. Bella is a great host. The Chef at NU and Private BBQ dinner need more recognition. They are awesome. Love them! One thing that can be fixed are the small fixes needed around the villas. The toilet seat in Villa 512 is broken and the lock is messed up on the front door. In Villa 519, the shower head was messed up. I understand that the place being next to the ocean and in a humid environment leads to things breaking faster but these are everyday use items and should be in their best condition at all times.

This resort is really nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The food is good, they have many options but it can taste better. The main issue with this island is that you will get a lot of “No’s” from the staff for requests. They are usually very helpful but expect to have a lot of your requests turned down and not able to help. The food service was the main problem for us. All the restaurants close at 10 pm. The room service also closes at 10 pm. There isn’t any 24/7 service. So if you’re hungry after a long day you won’t be able to eat anything till the morning. The breakfast food is good, the lunch and dinner options are okay, definitely can be better. The prices of the excursions are crazy high. Everything is a huge markup. I personally wouldn’t call this place a 5 star resort at all because of the lack of amenities and not the best food options. We had bugs in our room and bed, we were told they were from the outside and due to the rain. The absolute worst part of this entire experience was the boat ride to the island. We almost died. Not even joking. The weather was horrible but for some reason the Island Host told us to get on the boat and head to the island. The rain was very bad and the boat was constantly being slammed by crazy waves and couldn’t see out the windows. The men on the boat didn’t speak English. The real issue was that they didn’t give us any life jackets and I had to get our own after the boat too

We loved every second. The airport transfer was easy without problem, almost 1 hour of boat travel. The welcome greeting by the staff at the island harbor was very nice with local music. The room is perfect with a pool next to the beach and to the ocean. The room is very clean and there is two times cleaning a day. The pool and the beach is also very clean. The pool gets cleaned every morning. The food was nice with variety of options. Lots of types. We loved the special restaurants as well with special regional foods. The staff is very respectful and always with a smile. They help you all the tome whatever you need. Special thanks to our host Julia, and Hemand from Bay Rouge Bar, especially to the general manager and ret of the crew. Our housekeeper was the best. Surprised us everyday for our honeymoon. I also really appreciated late check-out offer, really made our last day amazing. Beautiful island with a lovely sea with the colors. Really nice experience with lots of good memories, i hope i will be back again.

We loved our time spent at VARU! The staff was super friendly and helpful! Lea at the Alena Spa was great! Balal took great care of our room and made sure we had plenty of water. Sonu was a fantastic hostess at Lime and Chili. Fiaz was such a sweet waiter, and Rahul was a fantastic manager. The grounds are gorgeous and the water is incredible! We went May 3-9th and the monsoons started about 3/4 of the way through the trip, but we loved it! Cooled the weather down a little bit. Lots of options for food. We never had anything we didn’t like.

We had a great stay. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Very relaxing though if you wanted to there are plenty of activities available to do. We really enjoyed the sunset snorkeling with sharks. The chefs at the Lime and Chille buffet restaurant were great and made us some special items. Our water villa was awesome facing directly west to see the sunset and totally private. We really enjoyed our stay and it made our 30th anniversary very memorable.

This trip was a dream come true. From the staff to the island, it was perfect. Our room was spotless and upkept 2 sometimes 3 times daily. We were absolutely spoiled. Small, quiet and peaceful island with amazing views. Would recommend to everyone.

We had an excellent stay at Varu! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. The staff was incredible, always going above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Loved everything about the resort! Peaceful atmosphere, small enough to be able to walk everywhere but it had everything you need! Stuff is great! Our host Rageeb was wonderful! Definitely recommend if you are looking to rest and relax!
