Great location, and we loved the staff and view. We did have some trouble when we first arrived with a musty odor in our room, but we were able to air it out pretty well while we were there.

Better days behind
We stayed two nights when travelling around Tuscany and Liguria. The hotel was almost empty. It has seen the best days. Most of the services were closed by the beach. There was a strange smell in many areas. Walls were too thin so all the sounds echoed from neighbours. Service was kind and parking easy. View was amazing. Breakfast fair.

Excellent location. Wonderful restaurant with great views. Booked a superior room. We were allocated what amounted to a suite. As a couple however we did not need the four beds, the room smelt of damp or recent replastering and the balcony was dirty, with lumps of broken plaster. Further although you could see the sea round the corner of the hotel, the view was restricted and the balcony was in shadow. We requested a different room and were given a standard sea facing room which was clean and satisfactory for the one night we were there but wasted the premium we had paid for the superior room.

Nice hotel
The hotel is away from main Livorno, towards the end of the coast. However, it is very near to beautiful coastal shores, had a great time exploring and walking along the rocky coastal line, stunning scenery! The wifi in the hotel wasn't very strong and only a couple English tv channels. The view from the room was amazing, the bed was comfy, the bathroom was large and shower was great. There was a variety of choices for breakfast and staff were friendly.

Value for money at this pleasant short break hotel
We received a lovely warm welcome from the young reception staff who handled our check in very efficiently. Our room was 2 floors below reception with a great view of the pool area and sea beyond. The room was functional and the bathroom had a great jacuzzi shower. Decor some what dated and the corridors could do with a spruce. (Note to Management- put on next year's budget.). Overall a comfortable one night stay but would caution against anything longer than a short break. Good parking facilities and other places to each reasonably close to hand. Value for money stay.

Nice Hotel on the beach
The Rex was right on the beach, room included breakfast and beach chairs and umbrella table. Very nice for relaxing and swimming. The room was modern with nice shower and utilities. Balcony had a great view of the Mediterranean. The bar and restaurant had good food at a reasonable price. All the staff was helpful. The only problem was that we were away from other restaurants and activities.

We had a deluxe room with a belcony overlooking the ocean . Room was a good size as was the bathroom. I would stay here again and wished I could stay longer

A clean hotel, with friendly room and reception staff. However some of the cafe staff on the beach, rude and abrupt. Very limited choice of sunbeds which you have to keep for the duration of your stay. Beware restaurant closed on a Sunday!

might as well rented a camper
My father and I had the same experience Father was on the 6th(they called the 2nd floor) I was on the 5th(they called the 1st floor) 1. There was no air conditioning. There were knobs on the wall on/off thermostat was not wired to anything. 2. Shower pressure was low and slightly above luke warm. 3. Noisy:You could hear everyone in the hallway till 3am some nights. 4. When you complained about anything somehow it was your fault.

Very old hotel and expensive! We traveled 10 days within Italy Toscana and this was the worst of them all! The train going by will wake up dead people!

PROS: The reception/front desk people were great! Very friendly. The room was clean. The views were outstanding, almost everywhere. The breakfast (included) was very good. Lots of choices, and you could eat on the terrace, overlooking the Mediterranean. CONS: There was a VERY horrible smell that came from the bathroom the entire time. The air conditioner did not blow much at all, and wasn't cool, either, so we were hot and had to smell that all night. When we ate at the restaurant that night, the waitress said the salad and the French fries were included in our prawn dinner, but she charged for them, and would not take them off the bill. We would not stay there again.
