Honestly one of the best wildlife experiences Ive had in a long time. Im South African and lived in Namibia so Ive had the chance to experience safaris. I went with my girlfriend who had never been before. Honeyguide is the perfect mix of comfort and real unmediated experiences viewing wildlife. Their team is very knowledgeable and committed and we saw plenty of wildlife on guided drives, the food was incredible and the glam tent we stayed in was luxurious and well equipped while being eco conscious. Highly highly recommend! will be back.
We had a great weekend at Honeyguide. Our guide, Devance, was knowledgeable and experienced and we had fantastic sightings. The food was good and we appreciated how dinner was a bit of an event which included calling people to table with a drum and the chef announcing the menu. As luck would have it we were allocated to a vehicle with a lovely young couple whose company we enjoyed very much. But please note that you end up sitting at the same table and going on drives with the same people for the duration of your stay - so you may end up spending your whole weekend with people whose company you do not enjoy.
The tented rooms were spacious and we enjoyed waking up to the morning light and being so close to nature. But - there is only a fan and it was HOT with no air-con. We were there in September - I don't think I would book to go there again in the summer months.
There was not a bar-fridge in the room but we did appreciate the endless supply of cold filtered water and the refillable metal bottles we were given at check-in. Very eco-friendly and cost effective too!
Overall I would recommend this experience to people who want to experience a value for money safari experience.
First trip to Kruger, and I do not think I could have picked a better place to stay. Everything was fantastic! The meals were wonderful and varied. They even made homemade breads to supplement a gluten allergy. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. As a birder he was helpful in identifying all of the birds we saw. One evening we were even able to see all of the big five in a single 3 hour outing.
Tout était parfait. C'est probablement mon meilleur souvenir d Afrique du Sud.
Notre guide Twice était au top. Nous avons vu le Big five.
Un endroit fabuleux, un séjour inoubliable
