We were so happy to be able to stay inside the Grand Canyon park. This lodge was easy to access, close to the shuttle and clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend. If you can stay in the park it is definitely a plus and worth the extra $ for the convenience.
This property is in a wonderful location -actually within the Grand Canyon National Park and thus close to some truly magnificent scenic locations.
The lodge itself is satisfactory- the rooms are clean and well appointed and the staff are helpful and kind.
The flooring leading to our room, whilst clean, is “tired” and threadbare, and WiFi in the bedrooms is inadequate. But then you have to remember just where you are…..
WiFi even in the reception area is not great and is difficult to connect to.
The “Tavern” is quite nice, but was very busy one of our nights because it was as too windy to eat outside . The “canteen” inside is self-service and soul-less, and is best described as “adequate”.
You are paying for the location here-a refresh is called for and a proper restaurant with waiting staff and proper knives and forks and plates would make an absolute fortune- only my opinion, but there you go.
Room was in East Lodge w/2 queen beds. It was clean & more updated than some we have stayed in. Had nice amenities like refrigerator, coffee in room, TV, internet. Beds were comfortable & it was quiet. Would recommend.
I was hesitant with this one because of the mixed reviews, but wow was I pleased! Yes, it is the budget option for staying at the Grand Canyon and yes, the rooms are a little dated, but I had a very nice stay. Comfortable beds, very quiet tucked away in the woods. Loved that I could open the windows for fresh air. Room was clean, super convenient to the Visitor Center and Village and right by its own little grocery market. Staff checking in and out were incredibly friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
What a great motel for our visit to South Rim; you can walk to viewing areas, take the shuttle or even drive to some of the popular sites. We were here a short time and loved the Geology Museum - great history about the Canyon and it's formation from 1.8 billion years ago!
Check in staff were outstanding and I would definitely return.
Hotel pretty much standard US motel room overpriced by virtue of location. But if you want the convenience of accommodation in the park then thats the price you pay.
