what we liked: comfortable bed, very clean, excellent location (we didn't go there but you can walk to the Guinness tour in five minutes), help for finding the place was available late at night (delayed due to Ryan Air).
what we didn't like: directions to find the place were TERRIBLE. There is NO sign anywhere that says "St. James Apartments". There IS a sign on the entry door that says "Hanbury Mews". That would have been VERY helpful information to know! We had to ask the person on the phone if that was the right door, we were on the phone several minutes and this information was never divulged to us, there is no house number outside. This was on a very dark street which made it even harder to find our way around. We wasted a few euros and 15 minutes of everyone's time (including the cab driver) trying to find this place... in the rain. Also: the edge of the shower/tub is VERY high, it was not a little dangerous stepping out of it. Finally... maybe nobody cooks for themselves when visiting in Dublin? Because the kitchen - while it was spacious and had a dishwasher, ample counter space, oven, etc - was furnished with the bare minimum of plates (4), cups (4), and utensils. There were NO cooking condiments whatsoever, we would have had to furnish salt and oil and sugar and all that little stuff on our own. I guess that's one way to keep the kitchen clean, by discouraging people from actually using it...
Would we stay here again? I suppose, now that we know how to find it...
