This hotel is in a really good location, has comfy beds and a great breakfast yet the room was too hot. The only real downside was one member of staff (everyone else inc the Spanish manager and the Irish doorman was great) but this one lady really annoyed me... I was going to refill my water bottle from a kilner jar of fruited water and this complete jobs worth stopped me and said I needed to use tap water. It made me feel like I was trying to steal (about 12ml of grapefruit juice?). I found this really annoying after paying £220 for one night in the hotel (in which I found it hard to sleep due to the heat anyway).
Right by Christ church and everything else in downtown Dublin.
What was a bit uncomfortable was the beds. They did feel very used and my husband and I had a hard time sleeping on them.
Also no fan in the bathroom nor A/C keep that in mind. Last thing was the windows you could crack them but not by much. So a showering, not having a fan in the shower and only being able to crack your room windows it got pretty stuffy in the room.
Staff was very friendly and helped pick very good pub/restaurants. Had to have window open and heard sirens all thru night. Not hotel fault but did not sleep well, beds very firm, tub very slippery
We loved the location, and we especially loved our view of the church! We came August 5-7, 2024, and it was particularly warm and no rain! Unfortunately, there was no AC, so we had 2 fans working! It was very uncomfortable! Overall, the hotel was fine.
the church bells are constantly ringing so you can’t leave the windows open but there’s no air conditioning so you boil at night. the carpet is dark so you can’t see the dirt but you can feel it when you step out of bed that it’s not fully clean. the person who checked us in had no personality and was not very welcoming at all. on the positive side the bar staff was very friendly and helpful. there were no refrigerators in the room for my medication so had to continue to get ice from the bar. Not my favourite place to stay but it is actually close to many attractions.
The hotel is older and the rooms were very small. This hotel does not have air conditioning. The bathroom was very small and the door could not be kept open.
We had 3 rooms. Our rooms were not ready on time. A male staff member was rude at the front desk. They put us on 3 seperate floors..one being a garden room woth a view of trash and bicycles.
There is a car park attached to this city centre hotel the reduced parking rate being £25 for 24 hours so not cheap but handy.
Very busy at check in but with 3 desks they were doing their best. We were given a twin when a double booked but it was sorted.
Rooms aren’t very big and the TV so low when lying in bed you can’t see all the screen.
In all honesty the rooms need upgrading as tatty decor, just through wear and tear especially the tiny bathroom.
Only 15 mins walk from Guinness storehouse one way and 6 minutes to Temple bar the other way.
Be aware lots of homeless people in the area, all good and friendly with us but be prepared to see this side of Dublin.
Nice place that is next door to everything. Walking distance to Brazen Head, Temple Bar, Jameson Distillery and right next door to Bull and Castle. Taxis are waiting in the mornings and shuttle/bus service
