Old fashioned guest house, lots of stairs, tight parking but a central location and low price
Breakfasts were delicious! The host was helpful and responded quickly with issues or questions. It is very close to the Donegal Town Center so we walked to restaurants, pubs and the Donegal Castle. We enjoyed our 2 night stay there. While there is public parking nearby, it is a pay to park situation Mon-Sat 9 am - 6 pm. Overnight parking is free.
I had lovely time at Atlantic Guest House! The hostess was very kind and friendly, the room was comfortable and cozy, and I felt very safe staying there. I also had the most comfortable sleep on my journey there.
Lovely, magical property with incredibly kind staff and an amazing breakfast!! The area around has excellent walk ability and plenty to do- I personally recommend the walk next to the river through the trees. There's a nearby bus stop that can take you quite far in either direction if you're curious about the surrounding towns, which are also rich with history.

They have restrictions on eating food in the room. There will be extra charge if you eat in your room.
The owner converted the house to hotel.
The toilet flash wasn't good.
pillows & blanket covers were not clean enough.
Booked the room from expedia in Dollar but in the property they charged me in euros.
We booked here expecting more of a B&B feel, which is was. I wanted to feel the city, and you can’t get that in corporate hotels. The rooms are small, but it is because the building is old. It’s part of the character.
What really made a difference was the owner operators. I was struggling to find a way back to Dublin. They asked and followed up, multiple times, and offering help. It was a genuine attempt and I will always remember their kindness.
Lorraine was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our family room was very clean. Breakfast service was efficient and fast. Walls were thin though. We heard coughing next room all night.
Wonderful stay here. Family run and quite charming. The room was cozy, and quiet, in this old building at the heart of Donegal Town. We were greeted immediately and shown to our room up a winding staircase. No elevator is available, so those with mobility concerns may want to look elsewhere. Breakfast is stout, and will power you throughout the day.
The breakfast was nice, and the location was good for what we wanted to do. The walls were paper thin and we heard everything from the two rooms surrounding us. The pillow were awful as well....flat and hard. We struggled with sleep.
This is a classic old inn with lots of character, right in the center of the old town. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is a very good full breakfast with lots of options. Only one suggestion: the coffee at breakfast is just powdered Nescafe, which is pretty bad. The owners would do well do invest in a real coffee machine. But maybe they don't much call for coffee and people moistly drink tea.
Wonderful accommodations, sweet service; very safe and walking distance to all needs. Easy car parking and buses to nearby oasis. Loved it. If you visit, have a pint at The Forge. Lovely spot.
