While the room was a great value for the money the room was really really small, there wasn’t a good place to put the luggage and we tripped over it a few times. The first 2 days in the room there was a bad sewer gas smell, to the hotels credit as soon as it was mentioned their maintenance guy pulled up the toilet and replaced the beeswax ring which fixed the issue! He did a great job and made sure it fixed the issue.

My room is tiny with no view. The shower area needs a grip handle--it looked dangerous, a person could easily fall without safety. I decided not to use the shower for that reason.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel in downtown Chicago. Love the tile and wood in the bathroom but wished for better lighting to fix my h&m. Great vibe at their cocktail bar(s) We would like to know the history of the building. Glad you kept the US Mail glass and brass mail chute.

Great location. Very friendly staff. The whole place has a funky feel to it with a cool lobby and bar. Easily walkable to most places you may wish to visit and a subway stop. The rooms are tiny and older but it’s totally fine.

I am a plus size female traveler and I have to say freehand was very accommodating. I asked for the bottom bunk given that I am plus size and they didn’t even ask questions they gave it to me which made my stay way more comfortable! I will say the shower was very small and the only downside about this place. Other than that it was a great place to rest at night.

Room was extremely dusty. It does not look like the room has ever been dusted. Light fixture was extremely bad. Paint was chipping in bathroom and light switch keep falling off. Common spaces looked clean.
