We stay at Planters inn every time we are in Charleston. We have always had a great room and great service. This is a great location and easy walking to most places you would want to go. I have only great things to say.

It was unseasonably warm during our visit and the AC would not cool room. We were told that system had been switched to “winter mode” and thus could not cool. Never heard of this, but perhaps it’s an older system. Unfortunately we could just not sleep without AC.

Our room was pleasant and a good size. We got the impression it wasn’t used often because the tv didn’t work and the clock wasn’t set properly. After notifying the staff, the problems were fixed. The two chairs in the room were stained and should also be reupholstered with better batting/cushion. Wood furniture pieces were scraped and could use some polish to hide the rough edges. Great restaurant and excellent service from all staff. Great location.

Booked the wrong night…my fault unquestionably…but neither Planters or Expedia would give me a refund or a least a credit or partial credit for a future trip…not good business in my money mind. Won’t use a third party to book like Expedia in the future…this would have been easier to navigate had I booked directly through Planters and I am a good repeat customer…oh well, lesson learned
