With accommodation for a party of 10 split between a traditional two-storey villa in its own walled gardens, and a stone-built cottage just outside the gate, there is plenty of space for everyone. Positioned near the top of a hill, the garden is on three levels and affords extensive views out across an olive grove and woodland. On the lowest level, you'll find a kidney-shaped private pool in a sun-soaked stone terrace. Mature trees on a lawned area to one side provide welcoming shade. A marble dining table on the top, gravel terrace is a great spot for al-fresco meals.

One of Chianti's most charming hilltop towns, Castellina, is a short drive away, so you can make its shops, cafés and restaurants your own. You are very well placed, of course, for the entire wine-growing region but you won't want to miss Siena, San Gimignano and Florence, which are all easy day visits.
