Between its ancient historical centers in the hinterland, which offers beauty and authentic flavors, its popular festivals and nature with a wild character, Salento is a surprising place. Facing the Ionian Sea to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east, this land is a blur of sandy, stony and rocky beaches bathed by crystal clear water.
At 30 minutes from Masseria del Gigante, immersed in a verdant landscape graced by olive trees of the surrounding countryside, there is the Acaya Golf Club, one of the most beautiful golf courses in Italy. Not far from there, there is also the WWF Cesine Reserve, the last surviving stretch of the vast coastal marshes that once characterized the coastline from Brindisi to Otranto.
Less than 30 minutes from Masseria del Gigante we find Lecce, a little masterpiece
built in the local soft creamy limestone with dazzling architectural surprises around every corner and the little town of Otranto, considered since ancient times a natural bridge between the Mediterranean and the East.
Less than an hour away it’s possible to visit Brindisi, which besides being enchanting, it hosts a very convenient international airport. At the same distance is located Gallipoli, with its coast to the north and south famous for its long sandy beaches and gorgeous turquoise sea.
