The rooms that are advertised on Expedia are not pet friendly even though the information contains the charge for dogs. I booked a stay for my partner's birthday at the weekend and on arrival we were downgraded because we came with our dog.
The hotel advised that what we should have done is booked through the website but on inspection their personal website doesn't make clear which stays are for dogs either (it's the garden ones)
It put a damper on the weekend, could have potentially scuppered the trip if no back up rooms were available and staff seemed to distance themselves from Expedia bookings and were not willing to make an exception.
The property itself is impressive and the grounds and location are fantastic but the customer service could be better

Beautiful sea views and only a 25 minute walk down to the beach. The main hotel had gorgeous original architectural features which made it very beautiful. The food was lovely.
Lovely hotel with stunning views. For us it was a little bit out of the way as the taxi service there is poor. However if you don't mind using your own car then I would highly recommend it.
Beautiful location and views from our junior suite. Had a sea view from the balcony. Room was large, had all amenities, and quality fittings. Staff were very welcoming, and made the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent with good choices available. In house spa treatments were excellent an good value for money.
We only stayed one night. The staff were lovely the hotel was lovely and clean. Breakfast was all you would expect from such an establishment. The only disappointing aspect was we were allocated a room up three flights of stairs with just a skylight. Also there was no lift and although I did manage the stairs I have mobility issues so was not the best for me.
