The temple showcases around 10,000 frogs of various shapes and colours, symbolising prosperity and good fortune. Legend has it that the temple was established by monk Gyoki during the Nara period, and it is designated as a cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture, reflecting its historical importance. In summer, thousands of wind chimes are hung, creating a charming ambiance and representing wishes for a safe season. The wind chimes in the temple are sold for 500 yen and cannot be taken home. The wind chimes are decorated from June 1 to September 30 of every year.
