What you can expect

Discover the majestic Chichén Itzá, one of the most outstanding examples of Mayan culture, and take a refreshing dip in the waters of the Selva Maya Cenote on this day-long adventure. Led by an expert guide, set off on an exciting and informative excursion with a stop for an authentic Mexican lunch.

Dating back to pre-Columbian times, the archaeological city is one of the best-preserved examples of Mayan civilisation. Your guide explains the history and background of the place as you tour its most iconic sites, including the famous Kukulkan pyramid known as El Castillo.

After your tour of Chichén Itzá, drive to a restaurant to enjoy typical and authentic Mexican dishes. Feeling replenished, make your way next to the Ik Kil Cenote, a stunning sinkhole in the Ik Kil Archaeological Park. Take a dip in the turquoise waters of the sinkhole, which sit 85 feet (26 m) below ground level, admiring the natural beauty of vines hanging down from the cenote's rim.

The crew was great, attentive and enthusiastic during the whole trip. However, the planning was not good. Too little time to eat (just 50 minutes, plus a huge crowd and long lines to get food), and enjoy the Cenote sight and swimming (just one hour end to end - getting a life jacket and get to the water alone took us 30 minutes), and Valladolid (just 15 minutes - not even time to get a coffee).

This will be short. No continenatal for breakfast. Just stale bread and coffee nothing more. The buffet is portioned for you and it is just 1 plate and 1 glass of horchata.. Not a Buffet like stated. At least give free water during lunch. The tour is rushed and more to sell merchandise at every stop they make over the mayan culture. The cenote.. you get your wrist band, but you have to purchase a life vest to get down to the water and a locker for the rest of your belongings, if you dont have a life vest you can only get to the first platform. As many stops being made to the same place everyday you would think better up keep of each destination. For my wife and i 400$ for the 2 of us was not worth the day.

Overall the tour was good, but wished they had more details in the Expedia/Cancun Passion Tour itinerary description. See transparent 12hr itinerary: Pick-ups start at 7:10am in a mobile van (~6 stops) then switched to big tour bus at 9:30am. Coffee, bananas, breads provided for breakfast. Stopped at Pueblo Maya/gift shop for bathroom 40mins. Arrived at Chichen Itza by 11:30am spent 2hrs (bus gives 1 bottle of water & optional umbrella before entering), the tour guide Carmona was very informative and entertaining. Then lunch for 1hr back at Pueblo Maya 1:40pm (they have vegetarian/vegan options), then Selva Maya Cenote at 3:15pm for 1hr. Stop in Valladolid at 4:45pm for 20mins to take pictures (not listed in itinerary). Returned to Playacar area hotel by 8:20pm. This tour is very long but works if you want full-day/evening experience, but not for a quick visit to Chichen Itza. You could book an Express tour or take a taxi to do this under 7hrs instead from Playacar.

I highly recommend anybody who visits Cancun to book their tours with Cancun Passion. Shout out to Josue, Luis, Freddy, and Paco they were amazing they made sure we were comfortable throughout the excursion and are very knowledgeable about Maya history. Had an amazing time visiting Chichén Itzá, visiting the Mayan village, and swimming at the beautiful cenote. I will definitely be booking my tours with them the next time I visit Cancun.

After being picked up from our hotel, the first stop was at "Manos de Mexico". The guide named Jesus highly recommended to all of us to purchase souvenirs at Manos de México. We got all the souvenirs at that store. the salesperson wrapped all the souvenirs, so we wouldn't be able to see what was in them. Now that we are back home, we realized that there are only 10 items, 1 is missing. Checked my receipt and some of the prices are inflated Furthermore; we ordered 3 small pyramids (540) and 1 medium size (600), but my receipt shows 3 medium sizes (600) and one small pyramid for 540. We got only 3 pyramids one is missing. We were informed that the price of the pendants is according to the number of letters in it. We bought 2 pendants with 5 letters each my receipt shows different prices for each pendant. We wanted to let you know that Manos de Mexico is taking advantage of tourists, Do not buy anything until your get to Chichen-Itza Good Luck!
