Villa maintenance required
We recently stayed in Villa Aurora. Positives:In a good location and very close to a new Aldi supermarket. Half an hour’s walk takes you to either the marina or the centre. Negatives: We were surprised on arrival to find out that this is essentially a 3 bedroom villa, with a completely separate self-contained 2 bedrooms annexe downstairs. This wasn’t clear on the property description. We had to report some (quite significant) issues during our stay. I won’t go into the minor issues as these were resolved. The more serious issues included no lock on the self contained annexe downstairs, which the property management team put a temporary fix on on the Saturday. On the Saturday evening, water began running down the living room wall of the downstairs annexe and we tried repeatedly to speak to someone from the property management company but got no reply. We had to contact the owner. A plumber came out and said it was likely a burst pipe and they would need to fix it once we left. We were unsure if it was even safe to stay downstairs. After lots of communication back and forth we were offered a move to another villa but this had less bedrooms and beds so we had to decline. We were offered 200 compensation due to us having maintenance out every day if our stay, and for quite significant issues as noted above. Villa Aurora has the potential to be a nice villa if they sort out the necessary repairs (a secure lock on the annexe and the leak).
