I did not go and stay at the property because I was ill and couldn't go. The owner wouldn't refund - fair enough but I asked him if I could reserve the night for another time - so he still gets the money but I don't lose anything and that I'd be a regular long-term booking. He refused, blaming Expedia. I know this isn't the case as other locations have been more co-operative when I've had an emergency situation. He also was also keen to bypass Expedia and other agents on future occasions, telling me to contact him direct for a deal. Anyway, by not being flexible, on this occasion he has lost a series of bookings going forward as I'd rather stay elsewhere.
