Windermere View is a modern and spacious lodge at White Cross Bay, in a lovely spot with a large pitch, and the lake and marina just 250 yards away so you can wander down to the water and enjoy the sunset or a paddle! As well as a large, modern open plan living space in which to chill out and enjoy your break. With 3 bedrooms, one king-size ensuite, and two twin bedded, room for a cot which you can hire from us (bring own bedding) and dog friendly too, this lodge is perfect for a busy family break or perhaps three couples wanting to go out and explore the fells and come back to totally relax. Windermere View is positioned close to the beautiful White Cross Bay, looking out across Lake Windermere itself. Views all around to the fells and the countryside will inspire and relax you. There’s a pool, club house and other amenities on site too. Note: Some facilities on the park are subject to extra cost such as use of the pool, gym, entertainment, bar and restaurant. 500 yards up the main road is Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with lots of activities to enjoy: gardens, house, café, restaurant, walks, boats, adventure playground and Tree Top Trek. You’re also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and a mile further on is Bowness – a lively village boat landings, with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, you find Ambleside, with its shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and walks in every direction. Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: the Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House. Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater. The Lake District is all about making special memories with your loved ones.
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
