Or you can hire canoes or rowing boats to take in the scenery as you glide along the water.

Step up the stone steps through the garden which has an elevated view and you are welcomed into the entrance hall leading to the spacious living area. The well-equipped kitchen is ideal for creating all your favourite family meals to be enjoyed in the dining room. The kitchen leads out into a small, secluded yard with a myriad of potted plants, chairs and the occasional songbird, an oasis to enjoy a book and a glass of wine. Up on the first floor you have a beautifully presented kingsize bedroom with an original feature fireplace, overlooking the Old Mill by the river and fields afar. There is also a twin bedroom, as well as the family bathroom. On the second floor is the master double bedroom beneath the beamed arched ceiling, complete with your own en-suite shower.
Ruswarp offers popular local shops, boat hire, riverside tearooms, indoor play area and a miniature steam train. From Ruswarp train station head to Whitby, or from here, take the heritage steam train to the North York Moors National Park. Neighbouring Whitby draws in visitors from around the world and is home to the famous 199 steps leading up to the abbey as well as the old, cobbled back streets with a plethora of shops, eateries and traditional pubs and bars. The beach stretches for miles, with golden sand, rock pools and fossil hunting to enjoy. There is always something happening in Whitby, from Goth festivals to live music and regattas.
You’re sure to find hidden coastal gems along the Yorkshire Coast, from picturesque Runswick Bay to Staithes, each with its own story of piracy and smugglers. The famous Cleveland Way snakes along the coastline, and the Cinder Track drops down into Robin Hood’s Bay ideal for a leisurely stroll, or take a tourist boat out to catch a glimpse of dolphins and seals.
