Nice property conveniently located near Te Papa museum, transport and restaurants. Large room with kitchenette, bathroom and washing machine. The complementary light breakfast is a nice touch. However, the facilities are a bit tired and would likely benefit from an update.

Good location but no parking
The location was central and close to most attractions. However there is no parking or even a spot to pull over to unload your luggage and no staff to help with luggage. The front desk said we could park on the street if you can find a spot from 8PM to 8AM for free but from 8AM to 8PM you need to pay $5 an hour and move your vehicle every 2 hours? We found a parking garage about 3 blocks away where we parked. (not very convenient) So if you have a car not a good place to stay,

Tryp was a funky modern place, room was comfortable and clean. Included breakfast was very basic. Parking situation was a bit of a problem, minimal street parking or some very dodgy paid parking options nearby.

Room was like a storage closet, no access to the window as the bed was in front of it and the small window looked only between buildings, no view like the photos on the website. Room was relatively clean but looked worn. Continental breakfast was the best part.

I loved the retro elevator, im not a big guy while walking into the bathroom door hits the toilet, windows don't open and worst of all the view of a parking lot is no view!
