Had a great time at Hotel Nell. We were spending our time elsewhere during the day, so I can’t speak for the bar or restaurant, but the hotel stay was great. My only very minor issue was that I felt like I was showering the dark, but that was more an unreasonable expectation on my part that wasn’t met. We traveled with our dog, and that went well too. Would definitely return.

I stay in hotels often to do travel blogs. Here are the pros and cons from this hotel. CONS -Rooms were extremely small -Mattress were cheap with no back support -Noise from local businesses and other rooms were overwhelmingly loud -Hotel room had holes in the walls -Parking is almost impossible on weekends with maxed out hotel parking accommodations PROS -property had trendy boho look -walking distance to union market restaurants

A stylish shoebox
Stylish and inexpensive in a neighborhood with striking income inequality and gentrification, and not as easily accessible via the Metro as it may appear based on the map (I am a former DC resident and generally very familiar walking all over large cities). More notable though was that although it was inexpensive, the room was among the smallest I've ever been in and just much smaller than was worth the price.

It's just ok
Stay was ok. place seemed clean and rooftop bar was nice. Room is small with a sink in the room, not the bathroom which felt weird. Lots of street noise and parking is annoying. No gym if that is important to you. Front desk staff was nice but hard to get accurate information from them.
