The Neighborhood:

The H Street corridor has a long and storied history in Washington, DC. First built in 1849, it became one of the city's busiest commercial hubs in the mid-20th century, then saw its fortunes decline after the riots of 1968. Since 2000, the area has been the scene of a remarkable revitalization that has attracted many of DC's young professionals and families to make their homes here. Today, H Street features a vibrant nightlife, some of the city's best restaurants, and the family friendliness of Capitol Hill, DC's largest residential neighborhood - all just blocks from the US Capitol, monuments, and the heart of the city. We love living here, and we're sure you'll love visiting!

Bus: The closest METRO bus stop is only steps away at the corner of 8th & F Streets NE.

Bike: DC is a great biking city, and the Capital Bikeshare program (www.capitalbikeshare.com) makes it easy to rent as many bikes as you need on an hourly basis! The nearest station is two blocks away, at 8th and F Streets NE.

Uber/Lyft: Uber & Lyft response times are generally less than 5 minutes in the area.
Lime, Bird, Lyft, and Uber JUMP scooters (and bikes) are readily available on nearly every corner of the city wherever you can find one, find & rent them easily using their app and your smartphone.

Walking: DC is one of America's great walking cities - it's truly small enough to see on foot if you have the time! We're about a 20 minute walk to the US Capitol, and just beyond are the National Mall and the monuments...

Convenient, quiet and clean
The property is 3 levels with spiral staircases. 1) Downstairs "livingroom" area with sofas and TV. Washer/dryer also located there. We didn't spend much time in this room since there was no bathroom on that level 2) Second floor has the queen bed (comfy), kitchen and bathroom. This is where we spent 95% of our time. Basically the size of a large hotel room. 3) The third level is a roof patio. Since it was cool while we were there, we didn't spend much time up there either. The entrance from the alley was unusual, but ok. Everything in the condo was clean and we had everything we needed. The owner was very prompt responding to text. The location was convenient to the capital. We Uber'd everywhere which cost us a total of $240 for the week we were there. Per trip prices ranged from $10 - $25. Prices are much cheaper if you avoid rush hour. There is Metro transportation everywhere but we didn't have cards and I couldn't figure out the process to apply and use a digital card. If you plan to use the Metro (which would be much cheaper), check it out and apply for cards before arriving. There is a small grocery store closeby but it isn't well stocked. We found CVS a couple blocks away to be the best "grocery".

Unacceptable
We did not stay. Days before my husband broke his ankle. This property is not suitable for a man on crutches. Although advised of the situation the owner of the property has refused to refund our money including the damage deposit. Not acceptable!
