We are just one block away from many great bars and restaurants on 14th Street. Red Derby and Taqueria Habanero are our favorites! Thip Khao, one of DC`s most popular restaurants, is just a few blocks away. There are several small corner groceries just one or two blocks away, where you can buy snacks, grocery items, and wine. And the Columbia Heights metro, a 15-minute walk away, has everything — Target, Giant, restaurants and bars galore, FedEx, etc.

There is also a hiking path entrance to Rock Creek Park one block away from our house, just head up 16th and you will see the entrance on the west side of 16th street. It`s a great path for people on foot.

Guest Access:
Guests have this entire 2-bedroom apartment to themselves and will be sent access to unlock the private entrance door prior to check-in.

There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
We are a stone’s throw from some of DC’s trendiest areas; The ever lively 14th Street Corridor is a great area where you can find bars, restaurants, galleries, boutiques, coffee shops, music venues, vintage stores: the 14th Street scene has an experience for everyone

With boutiques and family owned shops intermingled with big box stores (so big you could get lost in), any shopper will find something up their alley! Stroll the mural lined streets and take in a show at the Tivoli Theater in lovely Columbia Heights!

The U St Corridor which houses some of the best nightlife in the District is also a short distance from the apartment - the amazing music, food, and drink scene is a great way to spend an evening, and soak up the DC experience.

Getting Around:
The closest metro station is Columbia Heights metro, a 14-minute walk down 14th street. From there guests have access to the green and yellow lines.

There is a bus stop right around the corner on 16th street, a main artery of the city that will zip you directly to downtown.

There is a Capital bikeshare station at 14th St & Spring Rd NW, only a few minutes walk from the home.

Lime, Bird, and UBER Jump scooters can be found all over the city as well and rented using your smartphone.

There is a parking permit included, so guests can just park and go!

Other Things to Note:
Our home and our neighborhood are both blissfully quiet all night long. During the day, you can expect to hear some family-related noise, as the residents living upstairs have an active toddler who sometimes runs around on the first floor, usually in the early evenings and on weekends.

We want you to make the most of your stay, so we've partnered with DC’s city tour company See DC Today to help ensure an amazing visit, at the best rate possible! Sit back and relax as the finest, most highly-trained and knowledgeable guides take you through the city, to soak up the surrounding history.

Lodging is as advertised. Clean and Ikea perfect. We did not feel comfortable walking from Metro stop at night but did during day. Can hear the children and TV in housing above during morning, but not a problem if you are out and about early.. Management team clearly aims to be helpful and was very accessible.

Perfect for our needs
My grandmother and I came to Washington, D.C. for a 6-day trip. We had originally had a different place booked, but due to an unforeseen emergency at that property, it was cancelled, and I was left to find something new within a day of our travels and found this! Home Sweet City, was quick to respond to our request, answered questions and checked in on us via messaging periodically during our stay. We had an issue with the smart TV in the bedroom connecting to the internet. I messaged them around 7:30 pm and they messaged right back suggesting we unplug the TV, which worked! There was a handwritten note, a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine awaiting us when we arrived. Very personalized. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. There is no stove, but there is a toaster oven and a small hot plate if needed. It had laundry facilities, towels, and extra pillows and blankets. The neighborhood was quiet, and we were 500 ft. from a commonly used bus stop, which is what we used to get around town. On a typical day, it took about 15-25 minutes to get to downtown Washington, D.C. There is a family that lives upstairs, but for the most part, we were able to tune out the sounds of their daily living. They have a child (perhaps around age 4-5) that we could hear laughing or playing at times. On Friday and Saturday evening, they enjoyed their deck in the back of the house, which is right above the bedroom. It wasn't obnoxious, and they retired inside around 10:00 pm

Clean and quiet
Great place for my wife, daughter and granddaughter to stay for a few days. It was clean place for us to stay and visit relatively close to other family. A street parking permit can be obtained from DCMV and approved through the landlord. Getting the parking can be difficult. I received a parking ticket even though I had a displayed permit and parked appropriately.

Clean, easy check in/out and very prompt and helpful communication with host. Property just as described and was perfect for a family of 4 with 2 small children. Would definitely return if we visit DC again in the future.

Misleading
1st of all the parking permit is a joke if you are on the road picking a place to stay and not being able to print a ticket because you arrive late at night Front yard is not very flat ground for handicap people to walk The bed in 2 nd bedroom it’s very misleading it’s not a bed it’s a piece of foam on springs had to take mattress off couch to add padding Fridge freezer was not frozen water every where Tv in living room would be nice
