A Lovely House on Beautiful Property
We've stayed at this property twice and hope to return. We were just there in the fall and the leaves are exceptional. We were there in the winter and driving along the Mississippi, there were lots of eagles along the shore. The views from the house of the Mississippi and Keokuk, Iowa, on the other side of the river are wonderful, particularly the lights of the city at night. There was more than enough space for our family of five. It's remote enough that there aren't neighbors within sight, but you're just 10 minutes away from stores to pick up anything you need. Everything was very clean. Our whole family loved it there.

Gorgeous
Beautifully updated house with spectacular view. Nearby to geode mining and other towns. The house itself was nicely furnished with any and all amenities that you may need. The upstairs suite area is cozy yet luxurious and the downstairs has plenty of space for families.

This place is set on a beautiful, quiet, forested piece of land. The home is beautifully furnished, especially nice for children with its play room under the stairs, and well equipped for cooking and for sleeping. The views from the screened porch and the upper master bedroom are incredible. We absolutely loved our stay at Finn's Hideaway. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful Property
We had 4 adults and 3 kids. Great Property. We found the house just as described in the listing. Very clean. Comfortable. A few little quirks could be improved(downstairs shower is a little awkward), but overall it’s great. I would stay there again.

Cooks stay
Needed a large place to stay with my family, while we came back for a celebration of life. This was great because it had more than one bathroom. I also liked the seclusion and privacy this house offers. Fridge stopped working and was replaced quickly. AC was terrific!

Lovely home with lots of space
We enjoyed our stay at Finn's Hideaway. With four bedrooms and three floors, there was lots of space for our family of five. There's a cozy fireplace indoors and a firepit outside with lots of firewood and plenty of space. The property is private but just five minutes from the Mississippi River and the town of Keokuk, which has any supplies you would need. We would definitely recommend it. Thank you for a fun family weekend!

20 Minutes From Nauvoo
We wanted to take our teenagers on a church, history tour (church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and visit Nauvoo, this house was a good location for that. It was obvious the owner had put thought and TLC into this home. It felt clean, the bathrooms updated, clutter free, nice towels. We were a little surprised that the master bedroom was up in the loft and had a lot of windows, and absolutely no curtains at all. All you can see for Miles is trees, so it’s OK, just a bit unusual but kinda cool once we got used to it. If I could make one request is to stock the kitchen better (more serving/mixing bowls etc), it was a bit sparse. The teens enjoyed the home as well. Thank you!!

Beautiful secluded home
Our family of 5 went to Nauvoo for our vacation but we did not want to stay right in Nauvoo. We were grateful to have found this beautiful home, Finn’s hideaway, that was only a short 20 minute drive from Nauvoo and Carthage Jail. The home was very spacious and well stocked. My kids were happy because they were all able to have their own rooms. We all really enjoyed the pool table and the game table as well as the view from the balconies. The only concerns we had were (1) there were no window coverings. Even though the entire property is surrounded by trees I still felt a little self conscious. And (2) the spiral staircase going up to the master bedroom doesn’t have a railing on the one side so I would’ve been very nervous if I had had younger kids with us. All in all we had a wonderful time there and I would highly recommend Finn’s hideaway.

Family Memories
We came back to Hamilton our Hometown to Celebrate our Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother as we placed my Mothers ashes into our family plot. I was fortunate to find Finn’s Hideaway on VRBO. My Daughter and Son in Law along with my 3 Grand babies were able to stay with my wife and I. Mary the owner has a hidden gem and we were able to relax and unwind during a very emotional time. 5 Stars is not enough and we will be forever grateful for the memories this home has given us. We had plenty of room which allowed other family members to stop by for a quick meal after the services. You will find no better accommodations within the Tristate area. Family friendly with amenities to accommodate any event. The Littles spent time hiking with Grammy, playing in a special hideaway and enjoying the great collection of books and toys. The Taylor Family will always remember Finn’s Hideaway. ❤️

Beautiful location
The home is located in a beautiful, secluded location. It is surrounded by trees with a glimpse of the Mississippi River in the distance from the back of the house. Everyone really enjoyed the pool table in the basement. The beds were comfortable and the furnishings all nice and good condition. It would have been nice to have extra trash bags in the home, and some of the beds only had fitted sheets and a quilt or blanket and only pillows with fancy pillow cases which was a little unusual. Otherwise, everything was nice. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

River House off the Mississippi
We had our family of 6 for a four day stay here. The location was really nice, secluded, and from the top floor a really cool view of the river and the power plant on the river. The bedrooms in the basement and top floor are good size, the main level bedroom is small. Large kitchen and living area, and well stocked kitchen. We had a small issue with the oven, but was able to reach out to the owner and she responded very quickly to help me figure it out. We didn’t have time in our trip to explore the wooded area of the property, but loved that it was secluded from the neighbors and was very quiet. The only issue we had was we were not prepared for the bugs/mosquitos when we were there, so we had to get some bug spray. This is a great location and home for those visiting the Nauvoo area. Not too far away, but gives you access to a town with shopping and restaurants which is not available in Nauvoo.
