No beach passes, lots of ants
Let's get this out of the way first before a review of the house: we were extremely disappointed with Vacasa's customer service - there were six of us - we were never provided with the promised beach passes, and while the propane for the gas grill was replaced, there was zero follow-up to ensure that we received it or that the old gas grill was actually working. The advertized canoes/kayaks were nowhere to be found! Both families found the experience with Vacasa customer service unsettling. The guests at the smaller house on the property approached us to complain that their refrigerator was not working. I have screenshots of the unhelpful and rude messages I received from Vacasa, and the man I spoke to on the phone was likewise dismissive. The house is reached by a narrow, very rough, pot-holed dirt track - don't even think of driving a sedan up there! The house itself was nice, and the gardens were lovely to walk through, with unexpected little accents and nooks.
There were two showers available for 4 adults and 2 children, one in the basement and one on the ground floor. The beds and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was host to a fair sized ant colony, by the patio sliding door and on the counter tops. The lack of beach passes meant that we had long drives to and from the public beaches in heavy traffic with small children. We will not be staying at any Vacasa properties going forward.
