Now for the finer details:
You’ll be less than a block to the sand, where you often have the beach completely to yourself. The Bay beckons you with early morning beach walks, incredible sunset views and exceptional bird and sea life. The tide pools are a delight for small kids.
The newly and beautifully renovated Sole Cottage is the perfect spot for 3-4 friends, a small family or a couple who are seeking a quiet, tranquil, art-filled, unique Jersey shore experience. This 800 square foot space holds three small bedrooms and an open flow living room and kitchen.
The sun filled main living space has a new oversized West Elm sectional, a new 55” “The Frame” Ultra HD 4K flatscreen smart TV, and a warming electric fireplace. A small built-in "mudroom" nook holds a handcrafted bench, shelf and hooks to ensure you can drop and go or pick-up and go as needed. Vintage records, a record player and assorted instruments set you up for the daily music session.
Relax on the expansive back deck - which spans the entire length of the house - with its comfy lounge furniture and large table, grilling up your catch of the day on the gas grill. Take a nap in the hammock. Go to the beach and come back to take a hot (or cold!) shower gazing up at the trees in our handmade outdoor shower.
The entire space is designed for play and relaxation with puzzles, games, curated books and yoga and meditation amenities. A special “maker space” (the third bedroom) holds art materials for your use. Write a postcard, paint, draw, color or take time for journaling. A kayak lets you explore the Bay.
The fully-stocked, eat-in kitchen has everything you need to cook a big meal together and relax. Start your morning at the built-in coffee and tea nook with its Ninja, French press, electric kettle and assorted teas and coffee. The gas stove with griddle, French door refrigerator with ice maker, and dishwasher make cooking easeful. Cookbooks, cookware, tools, spices, cocktail amenities and microwave, blender, crockpot, mixer and toaster round out the offerings.
The quaint spa-like bathroom has a soaking tub and rain shower. Beautiful details abound - a turn-of-the-century antique door, handmade tile and a marble top vanity. Toiletry essentials are provided, including locally Cape May made Shore Soaps. Just outside the bathroom is a washer and dryer.
Sole Cottage has three small bedrooms with vintage touches and adorned with artwork by small and local artists:
The main bedroom, filled with natural light, holds a queen bed, organic mattress and hypoallergenic down-alternative pillows. An antique writing desk and closet give you the space to settle and connect in.
The second bedroom has a full bed tucked into a lovely little nook with books and art. It offers an organic memory foam mattress and hypoallergenic down-alternative pillows. A small nook holds a dresser and hooks.
The third and smallest bedroom we call the Maker Space. Custom stained glass above the door, a unique curved wall, a vintage writing desk and numerous art supplies make this room so unique. There is a twin daybed with storage underneath in beautiful rattan containers, and hooks as well.
Free and fast WiFi is available throughout the cottage, as is Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+. The outside of this house does have surveillance at the front door only, through an Arlo camera.
Please note that our cottage is less than a block to the Bay, not the ocean. The ocean is 15 minutes away. The Bay has dramatic tidal shifts, and at low tide the water goes out far. This makes for fun tide pools for kids but not the best swimming for teens or adults.
