Decent property, disappointing host
My daughter and I stayed at this property for eight nights. The apartment itself was clean, quiet, and in a convenient location. However, the host was problematic, and I would be cautious about renting from them again.
Shortly after booking, I received a suspicious email outside the VRBO app asking for ID and payment details. This wasn’t mentioned in their listing, causing confusion and concern. Eventually, the host reached out through the VRBO app to confirm their verification process.
Check-in was smooth, and the host allowed early access to the unit. The location was ideal, with easy access to the metro and major highways. However, the apartment's photos were misleading, with furniture not matching the listing (e.g., no furniture on the balcony).
We weren't allowed to use the attached parking and had to use a public garage, which was inconvenient. On arrival, one of the two beds was broken, making it uncomfortable to sleep. It took nearly a week of message exchanges to replace the bed, and I spent two days of my stay waiting for delivery. I requested a credit for this inconvenience, but the host rejected the suggested amount and hasn't responded with an alternative after a full seven days.
The host, a property management company, often responded late at night, indicating offshore support, and communicated outside the VRBO platform multiple times. Due to these issues, we will avoid properties managed by this company in the future.
