All of the people who we interacted with went out of their ways to make us comfortable and to answer all of our questions. The High Tea was marvelous as was the waiter and the wonderful piano player. We were less than impressed with the room in what is known as a well above average grand hotel.

It was not the cleanest or the best beds. The staff were not friendly but the housecleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. They tried to make our stay the best it can be.

Historical site, lovely facilities, staffs were friendly and nice, amazing location, close to shops and restaurants. From our room (381), water dispenser was a bit far so had to walk quite a bit. No complimentary water, so it would be good to have a few accessible drinking water throughout the hallway.

The property is Classic in every sense of the word. Steeped in history, yet not staid or overly traditional. The service is over and beyond from all the staff. Big shout out to Kevin Hung in Guest Services. Kevin had a bottle of Prosecco and a personal note for my father's 70th birthday, and making note of his last visit to the Empress 30 years ago. Top notch for the Empress.

Dinner at the Q was disappointing. My fish was lukewarm and my wife's lamb was too rare for her. Given the pricing, a disappointment for sure. Bar service on the otherhand next door was very good.
