Dreadful
We only looked at previous reviews shortly before our stay and regretted our decision to book here but there was little else available at short notice and so we decided to go ahead. There is little to add to previous reviews except to say that the smell of Indian cooking pervades the whole hotel and as a result of the poor state of our room it did not tempt us to eat there. We think that hotels.com should not have this hotel in their listings.

Excellent location closed to Geneva Lake! The facilities are pretty old. If you don't mind the cleanliness, then it is good option to visit Vevey and surrounding towns. We have two young children so cleanliness is the must. Not too much contact with staff so I gave average.

My holiday in Montreux and Vevey.
Went to Montreux to Freddie mercury celebration, thought it would be noisy there, so booked a hotel in vevey, not so many people and just as nice, the hotel room was just wot we wanted, we had a kitchen, So did most are own food, Which was a lot Cheaper, room lovely hot showers, nice cool room, not a lot of noise if you shut the windows at night , fridge, supermarket 5 min walk, bus outside hotel to get to different places, Montreux 20 min on bus , and cost 7 CHF return , Bus To Charlie Chaplin world , 6 CHF return beautiful, paddle boat trip , 5 min walk away, loads of cafe’ bars restaurants,Icecream 10 min walk Back huts, 4CHF , Cheap I thought, Hotel was on the edge of town, flat ground to walk, No Climbing Hills, 3 mins From Geneva Lake, beautiful scenery, French Alps, Across the lake, Towels were Changed nearly Every Day , But Didn’t Think This Was Needed, wasting towels That have To be Washed. 10 Min Walk Back To Train Station . Room was clean .

Worst hotel experience of my life!
I was debating whether to book my stay at this hotel, as I was reading several bad reviews beforehand. However, since I knew that all I would need was a bed to sleep in, I believed that it could not be that bad, as I just wanted something cheap - therefore, I thought that it was worth it. However, already when arriving to the hotel, the check in area was very inconvenient and dirty. The hallways outside my hotel room smelled horrible, and I had to hold my breath every time!! The room itself was very dirty, and I felt uncomfortable touching anything. Overall, this is without doubt the worst experience I have ever had staying in a hotel. I would not recommend this place to ANYBODY!! Even, if you are looking for a cheap place to stay - this is not worth it anything. Only good thing is the location, which is very convenient - everything about the hotel is a catastrophe. Smell, cleaning, furniture - nothing is presentable in this place!

Had bus stop right outside the door to get to the train station which was convenient. But we couldn’t open the window for air as it was too filthy and unkempt, with no screens to prevent filth from blowing in. The receptionist did provide us with a fan which gave us relief. But just looking out the window was revolting. The interior of the room needed tlc. It was clean, but we felt like we were staying in a third world hotel.

Awful experience from Check-in to Check-out. After a long journey to get there, the receptionist wanted to keep us waiting in a staircase (which they call the reception) until I called Expedia to confirmed when and how the hotel would be paid. This after I showed the receptionist my confirmation from Expedia that I had pre-paid, and showed him the charge on my credit card. But apparently it was not enough, because on his system he didn't understand the message he had received from Expedia. After pleading with him to let my toddler and wife into the room so they could rest and I would call up Expedia he relented but insisted I carry out his accounts receivable responsibilities standing in the staircase! The manager on duty was also not much help going along with what the receptionist was saying. Very unprofessional and unpleasant staff overall. Throughout the trip they kept calling me on my phone disturbing us to ask when I would pay the city tax. When I told them I would pay on checkout, they said there will be no one available at reception on Sunday, so I better pay now. When I came to pay, the new receptionist didn't want to give me a receipt for the city tax, because he said "he's always there"!! The security is not great either, as the front door is open and anyone can come in from the street and up the elevator, while the reception window is always closed. The room is dingy, old and not well maintained with dust and dirt in the corners. Terrible experience overall.

Great location. Room ws spacious and clean. Mattress was comfortable. Staff was friendly. The fridge hummed a little so I unplugged it for the night and plugged it back on in the a.m.

Pelo preço que foi, não se encontra melhor. Se tivesse parque próprio, seria excelente. Limpo, agradável, próximo do lago e central. O colchão poderia ser melhor. A kitchenette torna-se muito pratica quando se viaja a baixo orçamento.

Two nights at Vevey
Part of a longer trip, these two nights at Vevey were enjoyable. The hostellerie is comfortable walking distance from the main railway station passing a number of architecturally interesting buildings. There is also a trolleybus option if you have heavy luggage or it is raining. Facilities at the hostellerie include a bistro and eastern themed restaurant. There are a number of these in Vevey. Our room was basic but had adequate facilities. Only criticism was the space around the double bed... there wasn't any!

The location was central to the boat dock, train station and bus stops. It is VERY basic. The bed squeaked every time I moved. It's a place to stay if you plan to be out all day and into the early evening.
