Yellowhead Motel is a reasonably priced place to stay in Valemount. Nothing fancy, but all the basics are there. Well maintained property and rooms, competent and friendly staff.

A bit too hard of a bed for my preference, but of course that's each to their own. Otherwise no complaints. Was a decent price in comparison to other places in town, lots of room...overall no complaints! The gentleman that checked us in was very polite and welcoming. Will defnitely be our go to place next time we are in Valemount!

The rooms are old and worn. Curtains had holes in them. Lighting is dim. Sheets don’t fit beds. Beds are uncomfortable. Tin foil and duct tape was sealing a window. Door had a 1” gape all the way around letting in sounds smells heat and God knows what else. Room smelled of stale carpet and cigarettes. Ac unit sounds like a Cessna. All for the bargain price of $200 .

When I booked this place, I wondered if 8.0 star rating was because people’s expectations were already so low since it’s just a cheap motel or if it really would be a great place. After staying here, I definitely think people’s expectations were just super low. Initially, it seemed pretty good when we arrived. But as I kept looking around, I noticed more and more little hairs that hadn’t been cleaned up (particularly in the bathroom) and then I noticed pee on the floor by the toilet. That was disgusting. The bed was cleaner than I expected (which is my biggest concern when staying somewhere) and it was comfortable. I cancelled my booking at this place for when we drive through again next week because I’d prefer somewhere cleaner. I stayed here with my husband and 6 month old daughter so cleanliness is pretty important. But I guess that’s what you get when you pay for a cheap motel!

Overpriced for what you get. Good dive motel I guess. Air conditioner kept cutting out after 2-3 minutes and temperatures were 34C.
