Very nice room with independent lock, beautiful (shared) bathroom, excellent kitchen facilities. All communication was via email, no one was on site, but the instructions were very clear. Lots of parking (I parked in the back). Nice restaurant just a couple of walking minutes away, good brewpub a longer (but comfortable) walk away.

It was really clean and smell really nice ..loved it
This eloquent older building has a lot of character having been one of the first boarding houses for single miners in Val d’Or in the early years.
It has everything you need. It is in a quiet area of town yet close to important transportation routes.
The owner, Nico, is very pleasant and accommodating. I would highly recommend the Auberge L’Opailleur.
This is a step back in time! What an absolutely charming place to stay! Squeaky old wooden floors, narrow stairways and lovely vintage furniture! Clean and homey!
Beautiful building, probably an old family home. In a really nice part of town, and however few shops that are in the area. The room was really nice and had a sick, coffee maker (pod form) tv, and fan. For some reasons the room was really hot despite having a fan running the whole time I was there. Bathroom was big and clean.
If you want modern facilities and amenities closer to town (and you're willing to spend 2-3X the money), don't stay here. However, if you want to experience the real history and character of Val d'Or, stay at l'auberge.
This is a historic building from 1935 converted from a residence for single gold miners to a lovely hostel. It is set in a neighborhood of preserved log cabins built by the mining company at the same time. The hostel is also in walking distance to the mine museum and very nice bistro. Loved it all!
