Beautiful farm house in Prince Edward Island, close to fields, woods, and shore.

If you're tired of traffic noise and urban bustle and want to relax in a rural setting, we offer a beautiful, secluded 1917 farm house in rural Prince Edward Island. Take walks through the woods or along the beach, keeping an eye out for eagles, ospreys, sandpipers and chickadees. Nights are good for star-gazing, mornings for sitting on the porch in pjs, drinking coffee. The house has four sizable bedrooms, each with a double bed. There's a fully-equipped kitchen with 5-burner gas stove; full dining room; laundry facilities; and two gracious common rooms, with a TV for rainy evenings and hundreds of books. The house is set amidst an orchard, woods and farmland, and is just 5 minutes walk to an inlet river shore with beach for sunbathing, digging clams and excellent beach strolls.
We are: a 15 minute drive to numerous gorgeous and unpopulated swimming beaches along the Gulf of St. Lawrence; a 10-minute drive from Alberton, a small fishing and farming town at the western end of PEI; and a 90 min drive from Charlottetown. A car is necessary for getting here and around, as there is only basic public transit in rural PEI. Alberton has a good little grocery store, liquor store, bakery, post office, pharmacy and hospital, and several restaurants. Freshly caught local lobster is available within a 15 minute drive. The house, designed and built in 1917 by the shipwright Little Harry Williams, is well-suited both for gatherings and for private time - the ground floor flows graciously from room to room, while the bedrooms on the second floor offer a calm retreat.
Outside, we love to sit on the steps of the back porch, in the morning with coffee, and in the early evening with a beer. Between the morning and evening, walk down to the beach, beautiful at any hour, or up to the woods to follow meandering paths. At this end of PEI, it’s slower-paced, with fewer tourists and less traffic, more time for quiet reflection and long walks on the beach
or meandering drives with views of pastoral farmland or striking red sandstone cliffs. Even if you get lost, you're never far from somewhere.
