Enjoy superb walking, the Cumbrian Way, and several cycle paths, or visit the Manjushri Buddhist Temple and its wooded grounds and pretty gardens. Ulverston is nearby with a bi-weekly market, as are the beaches of the Furness coast and Coniston with biking, climbing and water sports. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

Great place to stay
Had a lovely time in jackdaw cottage. Very peaceful. Log burner was great. Will definitely be staying here again.

Very impressed with the cottage. Really well appointed and the owners have thought of everything. Lovely secluded garden, modern kitchen with brilliant range, comfy large lounge with beams. modern bathroom/shower. Good WiFi, modern TV with surround sound, nice varied selection of DVDs, books etc etc. The beach is 5mins walk away, 2 villiage pubs , farm shop, mountains nearby. And nice n quiet. No hesitation recommending Jackdaw Cottage.
