This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is located in Twentynine Palms/Wonder Valley, California, and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The living room is perfect for family entertainment, with a dining area set up within the room. The lighted arched opening also complements the space beautifully. Step into an intimate kitchen area that is bright, airy, and fully equipped to handle the whole family's cooking needs. A fully equipped ultra-modern open kitchen services this property.

The property has two bedrooms and two queen-sized beds and is fitted with mirrored wardrobe closets and overhead fans. The third bedroom has a pull-out couch bed equipped with a walk-in closet, washer, dryer, game table, and Ms. Pac-Man machine. The home is serviced by two bathrooms equipped with a tub, shower, sink, and toilet. The house can accommodate up to 10 guests, with the main bedroom sleeping 2 in a queen bed, 2 more in a queen bed in the second room, and 2 in the game room on a pull-out couch. Additionally, four more guests can be accommodated on 2 queen-sized inflatable air mattresses.

The Sunlight Retreat is on 2.5 acres of land, offering multiple outdoor relaxation options - covered and open - and ample parking space. Seclusion, peace and quiet. Stunning scenery. Better than camping in the National Park. 2.5 Acres to yourself. What a vacation is to be like. Only a few neighbors nearby. The Palms Restaurant & Bar about 5 miles east from property. Other food, gas, etc about 10-15 miles west.

This area has inspired and created film writers, movies, music videos, authors, programmers & more. Not to mention that even celebrities have retired in this area. Since there has been a rich history in this area from gold mining to homesteading, you will get to experience a rustic southern part of California America that is slow to the touch of this fast paced developing world we live in.

About 2 miles of dirt road maintained by county, property accessible by car.
The Palms Restaurant & Bar about 3 miles to the east from Wilson Rd.
Recommended to bring your own transportation.
Dial-a-ride Bus Service available in area.

A. Yes, only if there is not another booking the day before.

Unlike a hotel, the entire property must be prepared from guest to guest, dealing with surprise maintenance issues along the way. I strive to offer you a 5 star experience and this generally requires a 50point checklist between bookings. With only a few hour window between bookings, I would not want to sacrifice your quality for a couple hours of time.

You are welcome to inquire the morning of check in to see if early check in is available.

Q. Are pets allowed?

A. Yes, you are welcome to bring your pets. No extra deposit or charge for pets. Max 2 pets.
But the human owner(s) must abide by the pet rules:
1)Do not leave pets un-attended inside home.
2)Owner claims all responsibility associated with their pets actions.
3)No pets on bedding, as this can permanently damage the sheets with dirt, mud, hair, etc.
4)No pets in pool if set up for summer. As the hair clogs the filter system and may cause damage to the pump.
5)Please pick-up after your pets droppings.
I kindly ask that guests abide by these rules so I can continue to offer no extra charge for pets.

A. The refrigerator is lightly stocked with some water and snacks. But I would recommend to bring the following:
1)Extra water and food supplies.
2)Personal toiletries such as tooth brush & toothpaste, Q-tips, feminine hygiene, etc and clothing.
3)Cooking supplies. There are some cooking supplies in the house, but you may want to bring additional cookware as desired.
4)BBQ supplies such as charcoal, lighter fluid, aluminum foil. Sometimes these items may be present and you are welcome to use.

Refunds-
The cancelation policy is different according to the timeframe of the booking.

There is no refund for Covid-19 related cancelations.
Guests assume all risks when booking.
Refunds will only be given in an event that we are unable to provide the rental.

Cleaning –
Now days it costs hundreds just to have carpets cleaned.
Considering supplies and recent extensive cleaning precautions, cleaning generally costs more than what is charged and is subsidized with reservation costs. This is to give the customer a substantial value on cleaning. Our workers come out of their way to this rural location to provide this service.

We have always followed a stringent cleaning procedure.
We generally have 3-4 workers on site between bookings to make it all happen.

All linens are washed in our recently built, personal Laundromat with 5 high capacity washers and dryers.
We use Tide or Arm&Hammer detergent with Gain Fabric softener.
We also incorporate vinegar or bleach as needed with each wash.

Hot tub is always drained and re-filled between bookings along with bromine added.

Pool is maintained between each booking or once a week for longer stays to ensure proper chlorine & PH levels.
Pool is also skimmed and filter washed.

Switches, knobs and surfaces are wiped down with barbicide.

Floors moped.

Please try not to arrive early to the property and just help yourselves in.
As floor may be wet or the ozone generator may be running.
Check-in is generally at 4:00pm unless otherwise specified.

We have also recently incorporated Ozone treatment between each booking using a 48g/h Ozone Generator. This is a machine that is plugged in the wall and generates ozone (oxygen) gas from electricity. Electrical excitation of Oxygen molecules causes o2 to become o3. Ozone gas is extremely effective at removing odors and pathogen through molecular oxidation.
There are numerous studies that show Ozone gas is able to destroy the SARS coronavirus.
Ozone is a naturally occurring gas created from oxygen atoms. The oxygen molecule is made up of 2 oxygen atoms. These oxygen molecules are broken into atoms by the corona discharge during lightning storms or by UV light from the Sun. Single oxygen atoms cannot exist alone without regrouping back into di-atomic oxygen molecules. During this recombination stage some atoms will regroup into loosely bonded tri-atomic oxygen. This new molecule is called Ozone or O3.
The ozone generator is ran for about 1 hour and the house is aired out for an additional 30min. Along with the air conditioner running to ensure airway sanitation and even distribution of the Ozone gas.

This is a proven safe and effective method used in hospitals.
It is also a trade secret in large hotels used to remove cigarette smoke odors from non-smoking rooms.

Other things to note-
Motorhomes welcome, but no motorhome hookups.

sleeps 3- game room, 1 pull out futon twin, 1 queen sized pull out couch

About the water supply:
House is supplied by a hot water well, around 105f before settling and cooling in a supply tank. This water is NOT treated with chemicals like city water and just filtered through mesh screen filters. This water is similar to the water from a natural desert hot spring. I have enjoyed this water for years, as it is clean and refreshing with natural minerals. But like tap water, please drink bottled water.

Home away from home!
Had a wonderful time staying at the Sunlight Retreat! Everything mentioned in the description was accurate. Mazen was a great host, very responsive, had an issue with the water but was resolved quickly. The pool and Jacuzzi was amazing, has a little gas fire table, benches and rock speaker that was acomidating. The only downside was the neighbors dogs that was barking and a little Chihuahua that gets loose and roams on the property barking. Overall, secluded little gem in the middle of the desert with beautiful stars at night!

Great Place!
Mysel And a few friends visited the house for a friends birthday, the owners were auper great and communicated quickly with me when I told them we were celebrating a birthday they bought a cake and had it ready for when we arrived. The house was very clean we look forward to coming again!!

Meet our needs
House was clean and comfortable. House is located a good distance from town and 1 mile down a dirt road, so need to make sure to get what you need while in town. Listing states it will sleep 10, 5 comfortable between the two queen beds and the couch, the remaining 5 would be on fold out spring beds and a futon maybe for small kids but an adult would have a hard time sleeping on one. The owners were very quick to reply and address any issues that came up.

Decompression
Our family spent a week at this house. We needed to decompress from our busy work and school schedules. It did not take long to put down our phones and embrace the beauty (and silence) of the desert, local hikes, and amazing night time sky! I do not recommend trying to find the house after dark. Checkin was easy, house was very clean and had plenty of space for us and our dogs, but we spent most of our time outside hiking, and enjoying the enclosed patio, pool, and jacuzzi.

Lots to do in the desert
This property worked great for us with 3 adults and 4 kids. Lots to do with the little pool table, hot tub, and fire pit, but too cold for the pool the days we were there at end of March. We brought the kids' bikes and they rode around and around the house. It was easy to get to Joshua Tree.. The house host was very responsive. Issues included the dishwasher not working and missing TV remote, but I trust they will fix it for future guests. Overall it was great for our group.
