Terrible experience especially for the price.
First, the positives - room was very clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Now the negatives (1) hard to find the place there is a small sign on the door, about 10 by 12 inches and no street name. We had to ask a few locals and most of them didn’t know where it was. (2) nowhere did it say you have to climb 50+ stairs in a very hot stairwell, to get to the room. There is no elevator. We were on a three week trip with two large suitcases. We found a man in the street and paid him E10 to take them to our room which clearly is not ideal. (3) it was 90+ degrees and the air conditioning would stay on for about 45 minutes and then completely shut off and you would have to restart it again. That’s fine during the day but at night, we got up about 5 times to reset it (we complained after the first night but it was never fixed). (4) for two of the theee days we had no hot water - sent a text and it was never responded to and was never fixed. (5) breakfast - we had a choice of an omelette or sweet pastries. We chose the omelette which was delivered before we wanted it and it was terrible. If we were only paying E100 a night, we could put up with much of this but this was an expensive hotel and was way overpriced for what we got and more importantly what we didn’t get.
The harbour of Trani was lovely with lots of good choices for dinner. However, I would definitely not recommend staying here.
