The Imperial Palace Hotel in Tokyo exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable, showcasing the genuine warmth and hospitality that embodies Japanese culture. The staff’s dedication to ensuring a memorable stay was truly remarkable. The property itself is a masterpiece, blending traditional elegance with modern comforts. Every corner of the hotel was immaculate, and the attention to detail was evident throughout. While some Western visitors might assume it’s an older hotel that lacks modern luxury, our experience proved the opposite. This is a timeless property steeped in tradition, offering a refined and luxurious stay. We were thoroughly impressed and would gladly return. This is my favorite hotel in the world. It has an elegance you don’t see very often led by a fantastic staff. The surrounding area is great, with Gonzaga being a short stroll as well as Tokyo Station. I look forward to what they do with the recently announced updates and hope they don’t change too much. The great staff is the would of this hotel.

Not possible to say enough good things about the Imperial Hotel. True as that already was, I had an emergency at the end of my stay which I'll excluding below, and they were absolutely amazing. First, it's a beautiful world class facility including the impeccable staff, rooms, public spaces, location, and first class shops within the Imperial arcade and plaza. Hibiya Park is across the street, Ginza shopping on the other side, Imperial Gardens the next block, 6 hotel options for breakfast. You could make a vacation of the hotel itself. Now I'll explain my emergency, and will forever be grateful to Imperial Hotel: On my last shopping excursion, suffered a serious bout of vertigo. When I reached the hotel a security guard called for a wheelchair. Woman staffer took me to the main lobby at my request. I was very sick and while the staff tended to me, they were gently patting me on the back and bringing cold compresses. They were very kind to me. They explained they have a clinic right off the lobby, and a good doctor. He was very good. I was diagnosed, given an IV, eventually meds. After 2 hours I was brought up to my room to rest. My checkout time was extended. A few hours later, with a lot of attention from the staff, I was able to check out and make my flights home. I am eternally grateful to the staff, concierge, duty manager, doctor and nurses. They deserved 5 stars even before this wonderful assistance. Highly recommend.

It Should Be Better
For the amount of money it costs, and for its reputation, this should be a much better hotel. The positives: the staff are super-nice and trying to be helpful. I thought the restaurants were good, despite some of the previous reviews. Maybe a little pricey, but what would you expect. The negatives: they're renovating the Tower Building lobby, so access to the rooms there is a pain. If you stay there right now, stay in the Main Building. But the room that I stayed in bordered on the train tracks, and it was as if there as no noise protection. I had to put the air purifier on at maximum, so I could sleep, but that meant that the room got incredibly dry. The room itself was nice, but except for water and coffee/tea, everything there cost money. And again, considering the price of the hotel, snacks should be free. Also, and maybe this is because it's an old hotel, but everything was a maze, trying to find restaurants. I wouldn't stay there again. it's not worth the money.
