Nice location But needs major updates
We have stayed here several times over the years, but this last time wasn’t great The kitchen has a random assortment of cookware, and not well stocked at all The house needs a major deep clean, new rugs, silverware that’s not from mid-evil times The fireplace is cracked and falling apart the hot tub doesn’t work great No dog bowls The sheets need to be washed better and the couches suck The location and the yard are great !

A gem of a location
We absolutely loved the house and location. It’s a real gem. The neighborhood is so quiet and the beach is right there. Gorgeous back yard. There was a hot tub but it was locked up—which is fine because we aren’t fans. I’m still investigating if there was an upcharge for the tub. The one drawback is the kitchen is tired and needs updating. We would have given cleanliness five stars if it weren’t for the moldy caulking and trim around the kitchen sink. If we had stayed an extra day, we would have recaulked it ourselves. It’s really unacceptable—especially at the price we paid. That being said we are coming back. Hopefully someone will address the kitchen sink by then. If not—we will.

Rainy stays
Overall everything was as expected. We were happy to get the early check in, unfortunately there was no communication with the maintenance person regarding early check in. He walked in on me in my underwear. So, besides the huge invasion of privacy, it was alright.

Love this place
Normally stay in Manzanita but really liked the small residential quality of Cape Meares. No stores/restaurants but good kitchen for cooking. Minimal street lights gives super clear views of the stars and milky way. Upstairs bedroom has a great sitting area to have morning coffee and sunset cocktails. Only suggestion would be instructions how to lock keypad on front door. Took us a while to figure it out.

Should be a 5 star stay
Great location, wonderful back yard, good layout. Comfortable mattresses. Appliances worked fine. Sad, gray, thin bath towels, very uncomfortable living room furniture. Badly stained carpet and icky grout in kitchen. Overall, the house needs TLC. That said, we would definitely rent again.

Incredible! East access by foot into the forest or along the beach. It was a hiker's paradise and a special treat to roam the wilds of once town of Bayocean. Would love to come again- the house was warm, quiet, and peaceful.

Peaceful Getaway
Everything about this spot was lovely - except the dead spiders on the kitchen counter, dead crane flies in the room corners, cobwebs everywhere, and friendly frog in the bathroom sink. It felt like a family cabin that stayed empty for the winter and needed a thorough spring cleaning. I received a text message from Vacasa after check-in specifically asking about cleanliness, to which I responded with my complaints. I was told the local representative would get in touch but I never heard from anyone. Otherwise, the house had everything we needed. We loved the short walk to the unpopulated beach with an unreal view of the ocean from the master bedroom. Cape Meares is described as a "sleepy" town and it fully lives up to that - not a single business exists in this community, but this was exactly the vibe we were going for. We enjoyed a drizzly hike through the forest to the lighthouse, explored tide pools, and were able to walk our dog off-leash on the beach every morning. We never saw more than 5 people on the beach at once - glorious! The hot tub was a nice addition for the fall evenings, though it would have been nice if the lights worked.

Great Location!
Traveling with dogs is always a challenge! This home with its fully fenced back yard made this such a great vacation. The master bed leaves a lot to be desired. It is very uncomfortable! 6in of warn memory foam does not make for a good night sleep. That being said...id choose this home again!! Might sleep on the floor though

Lovely beach house, not childproofed for toddlers
We very much enjoyed our stay in Cape Meares at this cute and spacious property! The house has 1 1/2 bathrooms and a very nice washer/dryer, a comfy living room with lots of sofa/loveseat seating, a large dining table, a good-sized kitchen (though the electric stove burners are all on a slant, they work fine), and a big, enclosed backyard, great if you are bringing a dog and kids. The one thing we missed was attention to the sorts of details that would make a stay more comfortable for a family with babies, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children. Here're the things we had to bring along that we would have loved to have at the property: Pack n play with folding mattress High chair (ikea would be fine) Baby gate for bottom of stairs Child proof lock on under-sink cabinet Black out curtains in children’s bedroom (it is VERY bright in the summertime, our preschooler asked why we couldn't turn off the lights when we put them to bed at 8pm) Bonus: Bucket of beach toys For not that much money, all of these items could be provided for a much nicer and safer stay for young families. I'd also note that the backyard swing is not in working order -- it should either be fixed up or taken down.

Disappointing Place
We were very excited for our spring break vacation in Cape Meares. And although we enjoyed the beach and surrounding area, the house was disappointing. The photos make it look A LOT nicer than it actually is. Much of the furniture is stained/worn/uncomfortable. The house has very few blinds so at night you have little privacy. The cleaning staff does the best they can, but the whole place needs a thorough cleaning and fix up. On the plus side, the location is great and the fenced in yard was nice for our dog. It would have been nice to know ahead of time to bring wood for the fireplace (honestly, they should have provided a bit to start!). Cape Meares is a beautiful place and we'll definitely be back, but won't stay here again.

Great winter getaway
A few of the pots and pans were not clean, but everything else about this was great for us and our dog. Easy to get to the beach for long walks, lots of afternoon reading time upstairs. Would be tough for 2 couples unless one is ok with bunks. No frills but very comfortable and an easy place to stay. Only 1 wine glass and the hot tub cover needs to be replaced.

Very nice home/ awesome location
We had a lovely time in this comfortable home with an awesome big fenced back yard. The location just blocks from a great Oregon beach was even better than we had hoped. The only thing that was a tiny disappointment was that there is no bathroom in the upstairs master bedroom. The room has a gorgeous view from a nice little sitting area and the king size bed was very comfortable. We did not have a chance to enjoy the hot tub, but it looked very inviting.

Great location...house was just okay
The location and easy access to the beach was the best part of this property. Having a fenced yard for the dog was nice and the kids loved the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked and having a washer/dryer was super handy. However, the house was kind of run down. The upstairs carpet definitely needs to be replaced or cleaned. There were a lot of pet stains. Also, the upstairs bedroom needs better window treatments...the half curtains did not provide much privacy. The house served our needs for the week, but we probably wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Family beach stay
Location to the beach is a very short walk! The house was very clean and just like the photos. I liked the Master bedroom, other than there not being any curtains for big windows facing the street. Loved the hot tub and fire pit area.(Although lid was half damaged and hard to remove.) This home is a great family spot but was slightly unsafe for my two year old.
