Tavira is a small town full of charm crossed by the Gilao river
To access the beach of ihla tavira you have to go to 4 aguas or summer along the quay of Gilão 5 min from the house from where the ferry boats leave (shuttles every 20 min until about 1 h morning cost max 2 € round trip) these are beautiful wild beaches with poops, the island has good restaurants of fish and seafood

Tavira is connected to seville and lisbon by several bus companies including: http: // www. eva-bus. com
To see nearby: cacelha velha-santa luzia (authentic fishing village with good restaurants) -peidra del rei (a small train crosses the swamps and provides access to praia do barrel)

Between the streets near the Gilão river and the ramparts of the castle you will have the best view of the city, Tavira will seduce you and make you want to discover all its hidden corners and secrets.
This city has a certain oriental charm, with its four-sided roofs called "scissors", which stand out against the sky in a particular way, and its lattice doors made up of crisscrossed wooden slats, which protect the houses while letting in the air and the noise, heritage of the Arabs who occupied the region.
Tavira is spread over the two banks of the river, in a network of intertwined alleys and white houses that make you want to explore them peacefully. The garden of the bandstand (Jardim do Coreto) is the liveliest area where many people wander around enjoying an ice cream or the fresh air, especially in the evening when shows or other events enliven this neighborhood. This is where the Mercado da Ribeira is located, which has long since ceased its market functions, to become a space for entertainment and leisure.
The oldest bridge, which dates back to Roman times, is a 17th century structure, with stone parapets, from where you have a nice view of the houses. However not as beautiful as that which you can contemplate from the top of the tower of the castle, without doubt the best belvedere of the city which includes the undulating roofs, the domes of churches, the river and the salt flats, up to the blue line of the sea that marks the horizon.
In addition to the panorama, the effort of the climb is compensated by all that you can admire on the way, you will be amazed by the beautiful Renaissance portal of the Church of Mercy (Igreja da Misericórdia), one of the 37 churches of Tavira

At the foot of the 8th century Moorish fortification, my typical TAVIRA house located in the historic district, completely renovated, modern, close to bars and churches, has a roof terrace and a clear view of the city.

Tavira is a small charming town crossed by the River Gilão.

To access the beach of Ilha Tavira, go to 4 aguas or in the summer a along the river of the Gilão, 5 minutes from the house where the water taxis depart every 20 minutes to about 1PM cost € max. 2 €, beautiful wild beaches with dunes, the island has good restaurants of fish and seafood.

Great Holiday, Great Location
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Clean, good facilities and utilities (TV, washing machine, cooker, hob etc). Fantastic roof top terrace and a great location, convenient to town centre and local amenities. Excellent communication with host throughout, would not hesitate in recommending to others. Gemütliches Stadthäuschen mit super Dachterrasse
Wir haben eine Woche in dem authentisch eingerichteten Stadthäuschen verbracht und uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Es ist alles da, was man braucht und die Dachterrasse ist das Highlight. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ruhig in der Altstadt mit ihren verwinkelten Gässchen. Der Fluss, viele Restaurants, Cafés und Geschäfte sind fussläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Wir können die Ferienwohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Très agréable séjour au centre de Tavira. Idéal pour ne pas utiliser sa voiture et avoir tout à porter de main : navette plage, commerces, marché… maison chaude au dessus de 30 degrés extérieur. Jolie terrasse aménagée et bon accueil des propriétaires.

Centralbeliggende gammelt charmerende byhus med mulighed for parkering. Huset levede op til vores forventning og til annoncens foto. Dog oplevede vi at huset elektriske installationer let blev overbelastet, måske fordi vi pga lave temperature var nødsaget til at benytte det elektriske radiator i stueetagen. Køkkenet fungerer fint og vi nød at gå på marked og købe ind til hjemmelavet aftens mad, når vi trængte til at være os selv. Vi havde stor glæde af de to forskudte tag terrasser på de solrige dage. Maryanicks værtsskab var upåklageligt og der var altid hurtig svar på vores spørgsmål. Tavira er bestemt besøg værd - gang på gang.

Residência bem localizada, em zona central e calma. Casa bem equipada. Terraço fantástico. Dois aspectos negativos: 1 casa um pouco quente que necessita de ar condicionado que pode instalar no terraço; 2 Algumas baratas, que tive que combater comprando insecticida.

La maison est très confortable et meublée avec goût et notre séjour très agréable. Un climatiseur serait cependant très appréciable car les ventilateurs sont insuffisants. Nous avons aussi bien apprécié la terrasse en soirée.

Boa estadia com calor a mais
A casa situa-se perto de tudo no centro de Tavira. Apesar da situação central a zona é muito calma sem problemas de barulho. Os locais de estacionamento são perto da casa e nunca tivemos problemas. A casa é confortável e completamente equipada. No entanto, o ar condicionado mencionado no anúncio não existe, tem 2 ventiladores, e na semana em que estivemos alojados o calor foi incomodativo. A casa é óptima para um casal sozinho ou com uma criança. Os espaços exteriores são muito agradáveis mas não podemos tirar partido por causa do calor que se fez sentir na semana que estivemos em Tavira. O terraço poderia ter um grelhador e uma lâmpada para as noites mais frescas.

au coeur de Tavira
La maison est très bien situé dans la vieille ville et à 5 ms du centre. Il faut compter 10 bonnes minutes pour aller à l'embarcadère. Très bien équipé pour ce qui est de la cuisine, il ne manque rien. La décoration est remarquable. La salle de bain fonctionnel. Le bémol que je mettrais et ceci explique les trois étoiles, c'est qu'il n'y a pas deux vrais chambres mais une seule. En effet, la chambre avec le lit double n'a pas de fenêtre donnant sur l'extérieur, mais sur le bureau/chambre avec le petit lit qui, lui, donne sur le balcon, mais ne possède pas de porte... Nous étions à trois avec une ado, nous avons donc dormit presque ensemble, car, vu la chaleur excessive, nous étions obligé d'ouvrir les fenêtres (même celle donnant sur le bureau) et la porte. Aucune intimité. Cette location est très agréable pour deux personnes en couple, ou avec un petit enfant, mais dans ce cas, il faut demander une barrière de sécurité pour la nuit, ou éventuellement trois amis ou copines. Je raconte ici un séjour en plein été et donc en pleine chaleur. Au printemps ou en automne, en fermant la porte de la chambre et les fenêtres donnant sur le bureau, on peut penser avoir un semblant d'intimité. Dommage...
