The property needs to be renovated. I was surprised at the condition of the Best Western. The smell in the room wasn’t pleasant, ceiling was coming apart, carpet in bad condition. There wasn’t anything pleasing about the room or the hotel. I do not plan to stay there again. It was very disappointing.

I was at the Best Western in Tampa a few weeks ago for the Monday night game with the buccaneers against the Ravens and I stayed at the Best Western in Tampa and I like the the rooms was a nice clean. It's quiet. It was affordable. You know you get your you get what you pay for no. For real I mean no big frills or anything like that. You know you got hot water and towels and friendly staff and it was right in the hub of the town. You know and I enjoyed it. Just clean. I mean nice parking lot. Not too big. Not too small and you know if you're ever in Tampa the Best Western Tampa's a place to stay

My room key did not work. I could only use it to open my door once and the. It needed to be fixed at the front desk. I did this multiple times in a single day. I asked for a different room with a door rhat worked but they refused. Staff did not seem concerned about the issue.

All hurricane-related forgivable factors aside... The heavy headboard felll off the wall in the night and landed on us. It had clearly been re-attached to the wall *at least* five (5!) previous times. Only attached with 3 drywall anchors, no surprise. Sure theyll put it back up just the same. No coffee, awful breakfast, no pool towels. Attitude from the manager/owner from first to last minute. Grateful for the room in a tough time, but next time I'll choose absolutely anything else.

Different choice next time
I stayed at this hotel to be close to Tampa airport for an early flight the next morning. This area still had no electricity because of the hurricane however the hotel was open because they had a generator. The desk clerk was sitting away from the front desk and didn't come forward to check me in until I asked her to, although she saw me waiting the whole time. She gave me a room on the 2nd floor but I came back to the desk to change to the first floor because the elevator didn't have power. The hotel manager was very rude about changing my room. He said I should show some "common sense." I realize the hurricane was a traumatic experience for everyone who experienced it, but guests coming in should be treated with respect, and maybe some appreciation for helping you stay in business.

Hurricanes are hard
It was during the aftermath of a hurricane. So all I really needed was a safe place to stay, air conditioning, wifi, and cable TV. I go that and appreciated it very much. The advertised breakfast, however, left much to be desired: No hot coffee, no juice, no milk for the cereal, no yogurt, no fruit, no cream cheese for the bagels. I understand that the hurricane might have limited your supplies. But you charged full price, and you asked about my experience.
