El Sandal 4 in Huacas is a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom condo with a swimming pool in a secure gated community. El Sandal is located on the highway between Huacas and Villarreal, within 15-20 minutes of the surfing beaches of Tamarindo and Grande and other gorgeous beaches, including Conchal, Flamingo and Potrero.

The Space:
The living room is beautifully furnished and decorated, with a huge TV and a coffee table made from a section of a tree trunk.

The condo’s kitchen is fully equipped, plus there’s a barbecue, and you can eat either at the breakfast bar or at a dining table that seats six.The extra-large master bedroom in this upstairs-downstairs unit has a king bed, a walk-in closet, a safe and an attached bathroom. The other two bedrooms have double beds, and all have balconies, air conditioning and cable TV.

This unit has a large swimming pool with rancho, and it offers 24/7 guarded security.

What’s near El Sandal 4, Huacas

Within a 5-minute drive, you can find excellent grocery stores, restaurants, shops and a gas station. And you’ll be 10 to 15 minutes from the most popular oceanfront towns in the region, including Tamarindo, which is renowned for its beach, nightlife and shopping.

Head in the other direction and explore Playa Grande, Brasilito, and Flamingo. Nearby Playa Conchal is often called the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica.

The Neighborhood:
El Sandal is a secure gated community with a large swimming pool, shady rancho, beautiful gardens and a play structure for kids.

It’s located on the highway between Huacas and Villarreal, within 20 minutes of the towns and beaches of Tamarindo, Playa Grande, Playa Conchal, Flamingo and Potrero. Within a 5-minute drive, you’ll find excellent grocery stores, restaurants, shops and a gas station.

Huacas is a regional hub and a major crossroads north of Tamarindo where many Costa Ricans live, and where virtually everyone in the area goes shopping at some point.

It has three large grocery stores, including a Palí and a Super Compro, where you can do your shopping much more cheaply than in the smaller “mini supers” in the area. It has hardware stores, furniture stores, a computer repair shop, a print shop, a beauty salon, banks, clothing stores, and a variety of mostly smallish restaurants. (The Bohemia Bar and Grill, for one, is worth checking out.)

Huacas has one of only two gas stations in the region, and the closest to the Brasilito-Flamingo-Potrero corridor. (The other one is closer to Villarreal and Tamarindo). Huacas has several auto repair shops, including specialists in tires, body repair, air conditioning and glass, as well as car parts stores and car washes.

On the western edge of town is the Beach Side Clinic, a private hospital that’s always open, and there are also dentists, optometrists, veterinarians and pharmacies.

Huacas is a major crossroads connecting to Belén in the east, Tamarindo in the south, Playa Grande in the west and the Brasilito-Flamingo-Potrero coast to the north. In fact, there are two big crossroads here, neither with stoplights, and traffic can be an issue. But if you live in this area for long and ask around about anything you need, you’re bound to hear the answer “Huacas” at some point.

Huacas is about 15 minutes away from the beaches in Playa Grande and Brasilito. One attraction worth visiting, especially if you have kids, is the La Boya water park, which has swimming pools, water slides and food. Tamarindo, the most popular tourist destination on this coast, is 20 minutes from here, and the international airport in Liberia is an hour away.

Getting Around:
