It is a great authentic ryokan with cool artworks on the walls.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The place is more of a hostel than a ryokan. Warm welcome, clean room, but the downstairs bathrooms were an inconvenience, and some of the other guests didn't seem to care about the paper thin walls and were very inconsiderate on the noise front. A decent hostel, but I had expected a different experience.
Nice service. No issue. I didn’t check 5 stars for some due to the age of the building but it was fine for comfortable stay! Will return in future. Easy access from Uno port/station.

Clean, but smoking in-door is beyond our acceptance.

OK, but don't expect too much
The hotel has a feel of a hostel. Clean, OK, but a bit shabby. The attendant, however, was extremely friendly and very helpful. She sent us to a wonderful restaurant. I don't think you have much choice if you want to stay near the ferry to Naoshima - and it is pretty close. This is acceptable - but lower your expectations.
