Last minute stop in Tairua
Delayed may weather during a long hike, I had to change plans last minute. Was able to talk to the helpful staff at Paku Lodge and they arranged for a very late check if. Didn’t get to Tairua until after 9pm, but was happy to have a place to stay. Note: the town shuts down early, so no shops were open when I got there, but in the AM there were a couple cool cafes open for breakfast (I wen to Out of the Blue) and a cool mineral & gemstone shop called Heaven & Earth.

Great location and views
The location was great, right over the road from the lagoon and we had wonderful views of the water from our room. While I wouldn’t call the room luxurious, it was clean, well maintained and very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. Good communication and staff were friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay
Great place, highly recommend to anyone staying in the coromandel. Location is great with many great places near by and being on the waterfront is amazing. The rooms are super clean and well kept with anything you need from a short to long stay. The staff are very nice giving local recommendations. The only downside is that i didnt get to stay here for longer as i only booked one night so next time i would definitely stay here for much longer.

This is a small hamlet with few but really good options for dining and coffee. All within walking distance. The rooms kitchenette was well equipped and it was roomy. The view from our balcony was lovely a great stay!

Tairua is a great place to enjoy the beach. Everything is right there. Paku Lodge is outstanding value for your dollar. Love the free bikes and kayaks.

There was only the two of us. Th suite we had would not have been suitable for adults and children however they do have other suites. Getting a bit old and bathroom could do with a makeover as step into shower would not be ideal for the aged
