53’ PNW Yacht — L Y L A

The Lyla is a 53' custom boat built in 1968 in the Pacific Northwest. We offer you a stay unlike any other - step back into time for a maritime getaway. Sip your coffee and enjoy views of harbor seals, seagulls, and passing boats while docked at a historic maritime marina at Net Shed No. Fifteen.

* We decorate for the holidays! *

Pets:
Dogs are allowed subject to restrictions and an additional fee. Please review our "House Rules" at the bottom of the page for more information.
The space
Before she retired, LYLA belonged to the Fluke Family of Bellevue. Every summer, spanning from 1968 to 2020, LYLA spent endless hours cruising the waters of the Puget Sound and beyond.

The boat has recently been completely restored - here you will find quartz countertops and beautiful woodwork throughout. The interior boasts a beautiful salon and galley with views of the harbor in every direction. The pilothouse, or mid-ship, is outfitted with a wine fridge and cappuccino/espresso machine. In addition to these amenities, enjoy sweeping views of the harbor from above deck, BBQ and lounge on the many exterior decks (season permitting), and spend time kayaking around the harbor in our complementary kayaks.

LYLA sleeps up to five people comfortably:

- The Captain's Room: has one queen size bed and closet

- The Bunk Room: has two extra long twin beds, bunk bed style

- The Pilot House: has one extra long daybed
Guest access
We are available through vrbo for any questions - we live nearby so we can assist anytime!

We just stayed on the Lyla and it was a beautiful boat and the pictures were very accurate. The hosts were great with communication and my friend and I felt very safe at the property and the general area. The beds were very comfy and the linens, towels and blanket provided were great. The only downside to it all is the stairs are very tight and steep. If you are plus size or have mobility issues it may be a bit difficult. Overall it was a great place to stay in a very nice little town with lots of close shopping and dining. Would totally stay here again!

A super unique stay
We had such a great weekend in Gig Harbor aboard Lyla. The boat was beautifully appointed, quiet and comfortable for us. Far more quaint and unique than a hotel room in town, for the same price, and close/walkable to everything we need. Hosts were very easy to work with and responsive to messages. We will definitely book again and recommend to friends. Thanks again! .

What a magical spot this ‘boat hotel’ is in. You are located close to many food options but yet it was so peaceful to sleep and wake up in. We were lucky enough to have Mount Rainier make an appearance and you just have to walk up the ramp from the boat to see it. The boat is equipped with everything you will need.

First time sleeping on a boat!
This was a wonderful experience! Well appointed and comfortable. Loved sitting on the deck and comfy beds. Hot shower was great. Boat reno and decor is beautifully done. Location is perfect for walking to everything. Kayak use was such a treat and great to get on the water. A few kayaks need help with seat backs, but we had no problems; there were others to choose from. Felt very safe in town and in the Net shed.

Super unique way to spend a few days!
My 8-year-old and I really enjoyed our time on Lyla. It was super clean and all plumbing worked perfectly which I worried about given that it's a boat. Our only negative was that the bbq wasn't really usable, the freezer didn't work, and I didn't find a toaster. That said, the owners were super friendly and the boat is amazing. My guess is that they'll get these things figured out. We'd definitely stay again.

Perfect birthday getaway
Who doesn’t love Gig Harbor?!? And LYLA is a perfect and picturesque place to land. There were 3 of us, all women, celebrating the 75th birthday of the “kid” among us. We were dazzled by the interior and found it most comfortable. Hated to leave. Will certainly return.

Romantic and memorable
I surprised my husband with this booking for his birthday. It was a fantastic surprise and one of the most unique VRBO experiences we've ever had. Our kids loved it and couldn't wait to "get back to the boat" every night. We used the kayaks and the kids took turns jumping into the chilly water. We met our different boat neighbours and felt right at home. Our only regret is not booking a fourth night. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Kenzie and Griffin!

Bespoke Luxury Escape
My husband and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary on Layla after dropping our daughter off at summer camp! Staying on a yacht was definitely a bucket list experience and Layla did not disappoint! We were enchanted by her story and our hosts journey restoring her! Every corner has been tastefully decorated and restored... I never knew how much I love antique brass 😍. We greatly enjoyed waking up with mimosas overlooking the harbor! Dont miss dinner and a drink at the tavern right next door! We will definitely be back! Only complaint is a little outdoor table for drinks and cards would have been great!

Lovely stay aboard Lyla!
We adored staying on this beautiful vessel. We love boating to begin with, so to be able to sleep on this historic yacht was really fun. The massive restoration work Griffin and Kenzie undertook is documented in a book, and it was a real labor of love. While staying on a boat is inherently different from a typical land-based rental, the basic wants and needs are met here aboard Lyla. We loved being so close to nature. It is a peaceful spot to just relax and watch the sun go down while enjoying an adult beverage. The pilot house is the most comfortable place to sit and we spent a lot of time there. We would love to return for a longer stay; four nights wasn’t really enough!

A Great Place To Unwind
Staying on Lyla is a wonderful experience. Sitting on the aft deck with drinks watching all the activity of Gig Harbor, paddling around on the kayaks, and enjoying all the roominess and comforts of your own boat! We loved the cool comfiness of the queen bed in the bow, the little kitchen to prep our own food and drink treats, and the various chairs and beds and little spaces to just be by yourself for a bit. Easy to walk into the town, so close, for meals and treats. Everyone is so friendly, and the owners especially so! Can't wait to come back!

Hi! We absolutely loved our stay here! We have a family of 5 and they all had their space, the details put into it were amazing and we all enjoyed seeing the old renovation process of the boat. We truly enjoyed cooking, having wine, and spending our last night of our road trip on board! Thank you again for the beautiful stay!

Stunning Yacht in the Middle of Gorgeous Gig Harbor
My son & I had a wonderful stay on the LYLA, located in the heart of historic Gig Harbor. Nestled between 7 Seas and The Tides Tavern, this beautifully refurbished yacht was thr perfect spot. We had several days of great weather ("The mountain was out!"), and got to experience the Maritime Gig Festival. Wildlife abounds with harbor seals, bald eagles, osprey, purple martins and more. The boat is very well appointed, with an espresso machine and full kitchen. The beds were comfy and warm and the boat is sprinkled with interesting information about the LYLA's history, including the really cool table containing its original blueprints. It's clear Kenzie and Griffin have put a ton of thought and love into this property. They were super easy to communicate with and so friendly. Thanks for a great stay. We'll be back!

A great first visit to WA!!!
I got sent up last minute to Gig Harbor for work. Quickly learned there aren’t many hotels around. Wow was that a blessing in disguise. Found this boat and said, “yep, I’m in.” Literally the best work trip I’ve her had. The boat was roomy and comfortable. The harbor is phenomenal and beautiful. All but one afternoon there was a bald eagle flying really close by. Every morning walking out on the stern and smelling the water was awesome. To top it off the shower was hot, the bed was warm, and the fridge was cold!!!!
