Small and cute cottage
Very cute and clean cottage. Very handy to Wicklow and my 2 nephews that were traveling with my brother and I enjoyed the beach and the open grassy areas where they could kick around their new soccer ball. The one big drawback for us was no WiFi or cellular service which in this day and age we depend on. We had gotten used to doing on line searches as we traveled Ireland to find points of interest in each area. Other than that it suited our needs. We had been staying in Air B&Bs up until we got to Sykes Cottage and the Air B&Bs seemed to all have kitchens stocked with some basics like salt and pepper, coffee, tea, sugar, some spices for cooking. This place had none of that. Also the Air B&Bs had information about points of interest, nearby restaurants, grocery stores, this place had none of that either. We picked it because of the location near enough to Dublin for flying home and also the Wicklow mountains. We managed to find lots of points of interest through information we got while over in Kilarney when we did the ring of Kerry a few days before. I suggest if you stay at Sykes cottage for a base to tour the area, get you information before you go.

Ocean view
Beautiful view. You could walk to private beach and have it all to yourself! The cliffs along the beach are amazing! Seals can be seen bobbing around.. The hosts were very helpful with any questions. The town is about 5 miles down the road very quaint.. I noticed a few local golf courses as well The area is very quiet and peaceful.
