I very much enjoyed my stay at this wonderful hotel . The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff was impeccable and the breakfast was excellent ! Housekeeping made sure all your needs were met. The location was perfect. I took the Interbus from Catania Airport and got off at there last stop which was a short and easy walk ( with 2 pieces of luggage ) . Ortigia was also a short walk over the bridge to explore. Many walkable things to do in opposite direction as well. Plenty of restaurants nearby ( must try the Indian restaurant across from hotel ) . Definitely recommend staying at this Hotel.

Good hotel within walking distance to Ortigia. Nice breakfasts. The public parking lot (15 Euros per day) is a few blocks away. Our room was nice and large with comfortable beds. Staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. We'd preferred to have had more lights in the room. Shower stall needed updating. There was a shortage of surface area and closet space in the room and the bathroom to unpack you stuff.

The Grande Albergo Alfeo gave personalized service and attention that is uncommon. The room was beautiful and clean. A 3 minute walk across the bridge to the old town of Syracuse. Highly recommended -- we've already scheduled and booked our return to Syracuse next week.

Very chaotic. Water heater is not working and only moderately warm water came out. The bath tub is dirty. I dont know whether the tap water of the hotel is drinkable or not but it does has a strange taste. I am a Gold member of Hotels.com but the staff seems to know nothing about it and the benefits that the hotel provided to us. Breakfast is also chaotic as there is basically no staff there to serve you food and you have to wait.The only positive about the hotel is the staff seems to be really nice.
