The Tate is a pub with older pub style accom with shared bathroom. The room was old and basic but clean. The staff member waited for me to arrive as the pub was shut because of the holidays. It suited me as an overnight stay. I was the only person there. Small thing but while they gave me towels they forgot to provide soap. I had some anyway. The shower pressure and hot water were good.

It was economic and a beautiful bar on the bottom level. What I don't like is the toilet/bathroom door was faulty and had to squeeze through it to get in.

Barman Tom was very helpful. But the photos are very misleading and it wasn’t that clean. Previous persons used soap in shower. No toilet rolls and a pack of tissues under the covers of the ‘clean sheets’.

Could not close door to toilet/ ensuite. Sliding door stuck in middle of track. Toilet roll holder fell off the wall. Ceiling paint falling off ceiling. Water stain on the corner of the ceiling. Went down to dining room, Sunday night at 6.55pm and was told kitchen was closed.

Very little the young man when we arrived was very helpful BUT THE BED WAS APPAULING THE METAL INSIDE THE Matress - what can i say other than it was the metal we slept on The shower had mould the hand basin tap was not screwed to the basin the towel rail had fallen off

Food was great and the staff friendly, The room was clean however the bed/mattress was terrible. There was springs sticking out everywhere that actually twanged whenever you moved. Was impossible to get a good nights sleep, time to spend some money Tates if you are seriously going to rent this room out.

For $120- my expectations were basic for a bloke. The service was friendly and beer cold. Room 3 was a decent size with high ceilings. The decor resembled a Harry Potter horror film without the blood. Mould in the shower, an unrecognizable stain on a wall picture, sheets were clean but stained, mattress had a good life and now overdue its pension, tv entertainment was mediocre to navigate, ceiling paint peeling and the bathroom looked like it was tiled renovated by a backpacker 15yrs ago. On a positive, I was able to get some sleep, but then again, I can squeeze in a power nap on a 10min bus ride.

No ensuite. Shared shower is moldy and gross. Only one towel supplied for 2 guests for 3 days - asked for another one and there were none available on the property. Loud live music all weekend. Thin walls-noises from neighbours disturbed my sleep. No aircon- room too hot to sleep in.
