FLAMINGO COTTAGE UNIT #1 Sleeps 4

The Flamingo Cottage is a studio unit that includes a Queen-sized bed in the bedroom area, a full kitchen, bathroom with a walk-in shower, living area with a sofa, TV, table with 4 chairs and some outdoor space in front of the unit with a table and two chairs. It can comfortably sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. The unit is air conditioned and WiFi service is available throughout the resort. Enjoy the communal outdoor pool and covered patio that has a gas grill, griddle and picnic area. We do have a laundry room for guests to use free of charge.

For those who would like to venture out to the beach, the unit comes with 2 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a cooler and beach towels for your convenience.

Guest may request to have a dog, (1 dog of 40 pounds or less) accompany them on their vacation and will be required to sign and abide by a pet occupancy agreement as well as pay $75 in additional cleaning fees for the in-depth cleaning required after a dog has stayed in the unit. Guests that bring a dog that has not been pre-approved by management or do not follow resort rules will be asked to leave the resort and forfeit all payments.

Fishing adventures, bird watching, water sports or some down time relaxing in nature and the beauty of the most desired key in Florida. We’re twenty-five miles to Key West for dinner and nightlike or walk down the block to the local tiki bar, Tonio’s.

We have plenty of space for your boat and trailer. There is a boat ramp just down the block at Tonio's that can handle flat boats 21' or smaller and the boat ramps at Cudjoe Gardens Marina (477 Drost Ave.) and Little Torch Key (SR 4A & County Road) can handle larger boats for a minimal fee.

We’re located twenty-five miles from Key West for dinner and nightlife. Walk 2 minutes down the block to Tonio's Seafood Shack & Tiki Bar. Bahia Honda State Park, with its beautiful beaches, is a 15 minute drive from HIDDEN HAMMOCK RESORT. Our property is not on a waterfront and there are no public beaches in Summerland Key.

Guests are provided with the following amenities: a small bottle of dish soap, hand soap and a sponge, a roll of paper towels and toilet paper, a few laundry pods and hotel-size toiletries in the bathroom. This is to help our guests off to a good start. There are grocery and convenience stores in the areas for guests to purchase anything else that they may need.

We enjoyed our stay! Hope was the perfect host. We enjoyed all the baked goods she brought. All of her suggestions were right on spot. We loved the location, nice and quiet. But close enough to Key West. Great bike paths too. We plan on returning next year!

Hidden Hammock -- a vacat
We spent an absolutely wonderful week on Summerland Key, calling Flamingo cottage, unit #1our cozy home. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and its surroundings offered seclusion and a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Our host, Hope, was incredibly welcoming, and helpful. We so enjoyed our visits with her and she was invaluable for steering us to the best places to eat. Last minute find and we were impressed. Old Florida at it's best. Definite 5 star in quiet, beauty, and nature. Hope was a fantastic host. The muffins were an additional treat. Grill, Blackstone griddle, washer/dryer, ample common space and very nice pool. Plenty of room to park our trailer and great area to walk or ride your bike. Great location, close to Big Pine, Key West and plenty of restaurants! Improvements are constantly being done. For the price, hard to beat. Thank you again Hope and we will return.

We had a great experience at this little property. Clean, friendly, a great price, old Florida style, a great middle ground between Keys to enjoy all areas of the keys. Our only complaint was the comfort of the bed. A very soft and squishy mattress that allowed us to roll off the sides. A new mattress would make this property a 5! Beyond the mattress, the property was well equipped and furnished with all of our needs.

We enjoyed the solitude this place gave us. It was located directly in between Marathon and Key West. The place was nice and clean. The owner was super responsive and had tons of great suggestions of things to do. Definitely recommend and will go back!

Flamingo cottage #1 in Paradise
Overall, the resort is nice and I enjoyed my stay. My husband and I had a good time and the resort was a quiet(ish) nice place to relax. There was some construction happening across the street during our stay, so we weren’t able to sleep in much, but we had a lot of exploring to do, so the noise wasn’t too annoying. The location of the resort is perfectly placed, between Big Pine and Key West. I would recommend staying here for short stays two weeks or less. The laundry facilities were especially helpful and nice to have. The kitchen was well stocked, but needs a few other items like a cutting board, smaller skillet, and a few other spatulas. We brought our boat to maximize our vacation and this resort was one of the few places that were able to accommodate parking for our boat and truck, which is a huge bonus. I hope this resort will be here and available for many years to come! I definitely think we’ll be back.

Nice except for our lack of storage for clothes or suitcases. Very nice pool area. Close to Key West; not far from Marathon. Quiet with dining nearby. The owner happened to be there & was very responsive to our maintenance request. Laundry very handy.

Great for families!
This was an amazing vacation spot for our family! It is secluded and quiet scenery. The set up is perfect for families, we stayed in units 1&2 and felt we had room for all of us (2 adults and 2 small kids) and our dog. Since unit 1&2 are attached to unit 3, we hope we weren’t disturbing anyone in the attached unit since they are early risers and under the age of 6. The owners were fantastic! They replaced a washer that wasn’t working while we were there and allowed me to use an additional washer and dryer until it was repaired-which I thought was amazing when traveling for a week with the family! Overall we were very pleased and enjoyed our stay!

I'd never been to the Keys so really didn't know what to expect. I booked the cottages based on the really cute pictures. I was happily surprised when we showed up; the property was even nicer than the pictures showed! Hidden Hammock is really, really cute! The cottages (1 &2 ) were perfect for my partner and I as well as my two college aged kids. It provided us with enough space to have privacy and be comfortable. Cottage 1 has a kitchen which is very well equipped and larger than expected. Cottage 2 has a micro, bar sink, small coffee pot and fridge which made it perfect for me as I wake up much earlier than my kids! It also has a door right out onto the patio/pool area which is fantastic. The pool is right in the middle of the cottages which is very convenient. It's WARM, clean and a great place to spend a lazy day. Summerland Key, where the cottages are located, is a quiet, relaxing place if that's what you're looking for. There's a nice bar/restaurant within walking distance as well as a fantastic breakfast place. Plus, it's only about 25 minutes from Key West and 15 minutes from Bahia Honda State Beach. It's also very near a nice deli market and a quick drive to a Winn-Dixie. The hosts are very nice, accommodating, proactive, helpful and friendly. You couldn't ask for a better host than Hope. I could literally go on and on about this place. It's fantastic. If you book it, you won't be sorry.
