The nearest larger town is Lörrach (approx. 10 km). The small and large Wiesental valleys and the Markgräflerland region with its wine-growing areas in the Rhine Graben are on the doorstep. The trade fair city of Basel, with its many sights and museums, is in the immediate vicinity and can be reached quickly from Steinen station (2 km) by suburban train every 15/30 minutes. Day trips to Freiburg, Zurich, Lake Constance, the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen, Europapark Rust and the ski resorts of the Black Forest and the Swiss Alps are possible.
