Honestly, as a place to say this is fine. The staff is very friendly and open to help if you need anything. I needed to work all day from my room the first day, and there was no problem when I asked not to receive any room cleaning.
The thing is, this is an older hotel, and you have to be willing to accept that. I didn’t get to use the pool, but there was a sign on the door saying the heating for the hot tub wasn’t working. The entire place looks worn out, and there’s a smell that I can’t quite place but didn’t bother me too terribly much. The shower door did not completely close, and there was also only one way to get in so I ended up getting water EVERYWHERE when I forgot my face soap on the counter. Also, there’s a lot of noise from the back lot. I heard a truck and trailer parked out there at one point, and there was a Coca-Cola truck at one point parked in the front and nearly making it impossible to get through.
My #1 complaint, which I would argue is my only hard complaint. Is there is no sign directing you to the hotel from the road, nor is there a turn lane, and if you don’t hit the angle correctly you will scrape the undercarriage of your car. I was very lucky that though I was exhausted I got in a little early and so saw the turn in in the daylight. The next day when I came home from a wedding dinner I nearly missed the turn because I thought it was further back than it was.
It’s a great alternative to an expensive place in wine country
