Location is convenient to Georgia Southern and restaurants but it needs a little TLC. Hallways and elevator were warm and muggy. Toilet roll holder was coming off the wall. No coffee or water in the lobby. We wouldn’t stay there again

The room had a bad smell. We think it was from the cleaning products used to clean the room. The water glass I was given at breakfast at the hotel had the same smell, and taste.

We had spider in our room. I inform cleaning staff and requesting bug spray but she never returned to the room. I have spider bites on my body. The ceiling had water stains on it. We stayed in room 417.

Cancelled reservation with no communication.
This was the absolute worst hospitality experience of our life. Booked 3 nights in the middle of a hurricane evacuation and they CANCELLED the reservation with no communication. They say they tried to call. No record of when. No message on the Hotels.com app where I have had comms from hotels before. No email. They Say they tried to authorize (though it was a Pay at the hotel reservations) and my card “didn’t work.” Somehow, however, hotels.com charged the same card for the trip insurance. The hotel turned us away with no assistance and told us it was not their problem. Extremely unprofessional at the front desk insinuating we did something wrong. We ended up having to drive five hours (after driving 7 hours to get there) to find a place to say due to the hurricane evacuation. Will never stay at a holiday inn or use the hotels.com service again.

We were left without power in our home and we were grateful to get my 86 yr old Mom in a cool, dry place after 4 days of stress. Helene took a lot out of us, but she got to regroup and refresh. Lights were back after 2 nights in the hotel. A little expensive, but the peace of mind was priceless!

Was in the room sleeping for hours while a toilet in the room above us overflowed. My fav pair of shoes & all the clothes & both bags that carried them were ruined, including my laptop (I found out about the damage later) I could tell there was an issue with the toilet when I arrived when a bowel movement was still in the toilet & stayed even after I tried to flush it. The day after is when the above toilet overflowed. I was not called or warned about the incident despite them knowing about it as I arrived downstairs to talk to the front desk clerk. The clerk was rude to me & another set of guest, and it took 45mins -1hr for him to rectify the situation. It wasn’t in the new room until 7 but this room also had a bowel movement in the throat of the toilet as well. Prior to this I had talked to maintenance & he confirmed what I had hypothesized earlier. I showed management the videos & pics of the damaged cloths & such & she tried to compare them to baby poop but I told her it was obviously a grown up that caused the problem that caused the overflow. Overall staff wasn’t too helpful & management wasn’t either. Its been over a week since my stay & I haven’t heard from the owner or anything about compensation for my belongings. I wish I hadn’t been given 2 rooms with the same exact proble but I took pics of both. Overall this experience was distasteful, very unsatisfying, and very usanitary. And most of the staff was decent but management & the nightly front desk clerk were.
