Beautiful, hidden gem close to Penn State campus! Lovely, Scottish inspired decor and nestled below the trees on Toftrees golf course. Cozy bar, restaurant and outdoor seating overlooking the course.

Nice hotel, terrible room service.
Arrived at 4:30PM. Check in was at 4:00PM. Room was not ready until 6:00PM. Was not offered any compensation such as late check out. Room still had trash from previous customers.

Room Not Ready, Rest of Stay Fine
Check-in was not a great experience. We arrived at 3 (early, but sometimes rooms are ready) and told about half an hour and that we would get a call when room was ready. Came back at 4, room still not ready, told another 20 minutes. We decided to get an early dinner, room still not ready when we got back at 5:30. Hung around the lobby until 6:15 and room still not ready. And a staff member offered that their bar was open (but didn't offer a complimentary beverage for the inconvenience). There were several other folks waiting around as well. Left to go to an event and returned about midnight when we were finally able to access our room. The rest of the stay was uneventful. Room was clean and comfortable. I liked having a water kettle for tea and not having tea that tasted vaguely like coffee. A comp for drinks or breakfast would have gone a long way to erase the annoyance of not having enough cleaning staff and rooms not being ready since this is not a cheap hotel.

What a wonderful weekend stay
Family trip for a golf outing. The hotel too s were amazing. Beautiful decor and comfort. Each room had a different theme. We felt like royalty. Food and restaurant areas were wonderful. Delicious food, friendly courteous and helpful staff. Clubhouse pool and area was exceptional. We look forward to staying again.
